A new poll by Gallup shows President Bush losing to Sen. John Kerry and even Sen. John Edwards, but Bush supporter Sen. Zell Miller isn't worried. Miller, D-Ga., noted tonight on FNC's "Hannity & Colmes" that presidential polls in recent races have fluctuated wildly.
He recalled polls in 1984 showing Walter "Jimmy Carter" Mondale ahead of Ronald Reagan, polls in 1988 showing Michael "Walter Mondale" Dukakis way ahead of G.H.W. Bush and polls in 1995 showing Bob "G.H.W. Bush" Dole ahead of Bill Clinton.
Miller, author of "A National Party No More," predicted Kerry would lead the Democrats to another disaster in the crucial South even if he chose Edwards or another Southerner as his running mate.

The polls are cause for neither panic nor overconfidence. However, they do not, at this point, indicate a landslide.

At this point in the process, people know more about "Unnamed Democrat" than they do either Kerry or Edwards. Remember that a couple of months ago when Wesley Clark was the Great Left Hope, he was beating Bush by a couple of points. Where is he today?

I don't think you can trust any polls right now, including the exit polls being touted by the networks.
The Democrat primaries have been dominating the news and the White House has been letting them have their time in the sun. Furthermore, the exit poll results will only show how the Democrats who came out to vote for a presidential candidate feel, not the general electorate.
Let's see how the numbers look in June or July.

I agreed 100% with Sen Miller.
Alan Colmes was crying like a baby pleeding with Zell that his forcast was wrong and Zell spat out the facts.
Colmes to Miller: Why then do you think all these independants in the exit polls are for Kerry?
Miller: because they don't have a clue who he is yet and his voting record will come out as bad for the military !

I don't put much trust in polls either. But Bush might just finally start worrying. The Republican protest vote in Oklahoma was very heavy considering no one was running against him. See:

Losing 10% to a relatively unknown entity not on the ballot is incredible. What will the number be when a known entity runs?
To: Krodg
There is...the link didn't pick up the last part of the number.

What will the number be when a known entity runs? Which would be who?

Don't know. I'm no longer considering Tancredo. He came out with a Guest worker program of his own. If he compromises this early in the game, what will he do if elected? I'm still looking but basically support the Constitution Party and will probably vote for Perouka.
I'm not sure why I'm even talking to you. You should be ashamed of yourself for your below the belt tag team action.

I'm still looking but basically support the Constitution Party and will probably vote for Perouka. What is his position on immigration?

And Reagan won
only 90% in the Republican primaries in Tennessee and Louisiana back in 1984.
However, in yesterday's Missouri primary, Bush only won 97% of the Republican primary vote.

Man, watching Miller tonight and not knowing anything about politics, I would've thought he was head of the RNC! Zell pulled no punches...

No guest worker program, enforce the laws on the books, deportation of those here, and severely limit legal immigration until we can assimilate the hordes from the past 30 years.
To: Texasforever
Forgot to add that he'll put the military on the border to prevent any more illegals coming in.
