This is the live feed from the Assembly Floor. I was told it could be an early vote after the Roll Call. It's not listed on the schedule.

Refresh our memory please. Is this an override to a veto?

Yes - Already overridden in the Senate, 23-10. This one's gonna hinge on one or two Assemblymen, including one of the original bill's co-sponsors (Sherman).

When do they vote?
To: tractorman
It could be the first vote without debate. This is the override. We need 2/3ths of the vote.

I hope this gets through for my sake and yours. Every state bordering Illinois that regains their gun rights is a threat to the liberal Daleyists who are running our state.

Itll be interesting to see how the liberal Milwaukee media handles the outcome.
Chances are if the veto is sustained itll be on the front page and if its over ridden itll be on page 5B.
Heres to hoping and praying for an over ride.
To: Shooter 2.5
I thought that the veto was already overturned. What's going on up there?

It requires a two-thirds majority in BOTH houses in order to override. So far we have the Senate. Today is the vote in the Assembly.

I see.
I've been in Texas for too long. That will be corrected this coming summer.

That was the Senate override. This is now the Assembly vote. If we can pass this, it becomes law and Wisconsin will change from a "No Rights" state to the 36th state to have "Shall Issue". Vermont and Alaska have "Rights Unrestricted".

I contacted my assemblyman.
What else can I do?
Call? Send money?

CC laws don't 'regain our rights'..
In fact in a way they agree with the governments position that the RKBA can br infringed by 'reasonable regulations'..
Met any reasonable regulators lately?
Vermont & Alaska's laws are reasonable, no others.. -- And perhaps some day the USSC will be forced to agree with that fact..

All the work that the NRA and Wisconsin Carry Association has done is going to be shown in a couple of minutes or hours. What we can do now is observe how the dems will use lies and exaggerations to stop the override. Remember that at election time.

I would normally agree with you. Colorado is a test case for me however. They failed to get their Rights recognized through the judiciary, yet passed CCW reform laws. Now they have a State rep pushing for a new Bill that institutes Alaska/Vermont style carry laws that would even apply in Denver despite their insistance on being a "home rule" city where even slavery could be re-instituted. If it works, it could be the proof that the "stepping-stone" method does in fact get the job done.
This could be the model for rolling CCW laws into REAL recognition of our Rights.
