Is Fox News Channel "fair and balanced," as its motto claims?
Or is that slogan a clever marketing line designed to hide Fox News political tilt to the right?
And with its success

Past recipients of the group's Sol Taishoff award include TV newscasters David Brinkley, Dan Rather, John Chancellor, Jane Pauley, Barbara Walters and Nina Totenberg. All moderate left fo far left. I have worked with Nina Totenberg. Far-far-left, and very active in promoting leftist causes. Far from a neutral journalist.
She says groups such as the foundation, before lauding Fox or its lead news anchor, should debate whether the way Fox reports news is good for journalism.
Like the fox guarding the henhouse, or actually, more like Ted Bundy guarding the Sorority House.

"That is inaccurate and unfair to other media who engage in a quest, perhaps an imperfect quest, for objectivity."Who is this woman anyway? Is she mentally retarded? bonkers? seriously psychotic? or has she been in a coma for the past 30 years?

"And I can applaud Fox for all sorts of things, but being deceptively ideologically aligned being hypocritical about it far from contributing to such discussions, makes them impossible to have. Overholser is herself hypocritical with this remark. The media since the 1960s has been deceptively ideologically aligned. Fox exposes the common leftward tilt of contemporary news (and entertainment) quite simply because Fox is balanced.
Congratulations to Mr. Hume..."fair, balanced, and unafraid!"

She used to be the editor of the Des Moines Register. IIRC she ended up marrying a guy by the name of Dave Westfall who was also in management at the Register who left his wife and kids for her. Nice she has her standards of conduct down to a science.

Nina Totenburg led the lynching of Clarence Thomas. Hardly neutral. How much you want to be that this WP "bigwig" is about to take a campaign job?

Overholser, the former editor of The Des Moines Register (until an office affair with another married editor at the Register forced her to resign) who now runs the University of Missouri's Washington journalism program, quietly resigned from the board of the foundation three weeks ago.

And I can applaud Fox for all sorts of things, but being deceptively ideologically aligned . OK Overholser, first give us some examples of what things you applaud Fox for. Then give a list of examples of deceptive ideology in actual practice at Fox. Bet a nickel you can't do either.
To: MindBender26
You can be ideologically aligned but still be fair and balanced in the reporting. Hume is conservative but also gives fair time to the likes of Juan Williams and Mara. Just because Brit doesnt pose with Fidel Castro doesnt make him a poor journalist.

Geneva can go pound sand.
Palestinian Nina is hardly an objective journalist. Brit Hume does a very good job IMO.
Is Geneva the chick that always introduces the speakers at the NPC events?
