A return to submissive wives?

QUITE A FEW people would probably rail against Laura Schlessinger, the radio pop psychologist known for her diatribes against abortion, working mothers, and gay rights, even if she said that you should be kind to animals and brush your teeth regularly. When "Dr. Laura" writes a book which pins most of the blame for modern marital problems on selfish, overly demanding women, that's bound to ruffle feathers.

Only the nutty and the romantically immature think about marrying in this day and age.

Dr.Laura, you have 'hit the nail' on the head with this book. Hope, only that the true woman pays heed.

A good summary of Dr. Laura's general approach, I think. I've enjoyed (sometimes with guilt!) some of her books, and sometimes learned something useful, but she is overly simplistic and reduces people to the lowest common denominator. An occupational hazard, perhaps ...

I generally can't stand Dr. Laura, even on those occasions when she is right.

Well the pyschobabble of the typical shrink certainly never help the client, but does create a lifeline customer.

the radio pop psychologist known for her diatribes against abortion, working mothers, and gay rights,

Bias much? Leave it to a Boston rag to immediately discredit Dr. Laura in the first sentence of the article.

Typical.

Liberals hate, HATE, Dr. Laura because she's not afraid to speak up against their years of social engineering. Dr. Laura is right friggin' on with this book.

Congratulations on your baby, Tax-chick!

About Dr. Laura- she tends towards brash overly siimplistic judgements, but that's just her radio shtik. She sounds so outrageous because her comments aren't P.C., and we're so unused to hearing that viewpoint.

The idea that women should be as polite to men has become foreign to American women. We expect men to sacrifice their lives for their families, but become unglued when they ask us to bring them a cup of coffee. (We'd do that for our girlfriends in a minute.)

Generally, I can't stand her either.....she is inconsistant, impatient, intolerant, rude, and down right mean to the poor and sometimes silly people that call her....

her big thing is to rail against women, period...

When I hear of women like Dr. Laura speak so ill of her fellow female population , it makes me wonder if she is a closet lesbian....a person that does not identify with her normal gender group...IMO only of course......

sure, I know she is married with child, but that means little nowadays....

No, I dont think she is a lesbian, I think that she is tired of dealing with stupid, self centered women who have been told that they alone hold up the universe by lesbian propaganda.

"Men are only interested in two things: If I'm not horny, make me a sandwich."

Yes sir! That lasts all of two or three years.

After that it takes a skillfull, and sometimes deviant, mind to buy them something nice and take them out to dinner once in a while.

Aw baby, you know what I like

Andrea Yates was and is an extremely sick lady. She wasn't recieving proper meds, and is an extreme schizoid. My mother was her nurse at Skyview Prison Unit in Rusk, Texas, and I am here to tell you that she has been trying to kill herself. Once she had stabilized on the proper medication, She realized what she had done and has been trying to end her own life. It is a pitiful situation, and should not be compared to this discussion.
