CBS is claiming it had no idea that a Super Bowl half-time dance routine between Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake would feature the pop diva going partially topless. But four days before Ms. Jackson assaulted tens of millions TV viewers during the family hour with her R-rated moment, a press release by the company producing the show boasted that her dance would be "shocking."
"I don't think the Super Bowl has ever seen a performance like this," Jackson choreographer Gil Duldulao said, in a press release posted to MTV's web site on Jan. 28.
"The dancing is great. She's more stylized, she's more feminine, she's more a woman as she dances this time around. There are some shocking moments in there too."
CBS and NFL switchboards were flooded with complaints as millions of families gathered to watch what was supposed to be a wholesome family-oriented TV sports event.
But instead, a song laced with Timberlake's allusions to getting Jackson naked ended with him ripping off part of her top, exposing Jackson's tassled breast.
A statement issued by the NFL said it was unlikely that MTV would ever be allowed to produce another Super Bowl half-time show.
But despite the music network's boast that the "shocking" routine would show Jackson as "more of a woman as she dances around," CBS is calling her nudity "unexpected."

I don't care if Janet wants to dance nude while biting off the head of a bat - she can do it with her own kind. Why force it on conservatives?
Why are conservative parents forced to see an old hard-looking two bit whore type strip while we're watching football with our families? Let her stay with her fellow liberals.
Forced viewing is the new liberal "edgy" thing? How totalitarian.

Your last point is well taken. I homeschool the kids. They are home most of the time, and liberal news is never on here. Fox News, and dh & I always comment if we think they are going off the mark in their content. We also have many discussions about socialism, capitalism, the Constitution, homsexual agenda, anti-Christian bias, Hollywood leftists, etc. Our older child is well aware of our values. We do control what they watch, their games, movies, etc.

You are very wise.

Well hopefully one good thing that will come from all of this is that is will mark the end of Justin Timberlake's career so he won't have to spare us to death anymore.

Thank you. Just trying to swim against the tide of popular culture and prevailing "wisdom". Hubby and I both look back and know how we were brainwashed into liberalism, moral relativism, etc by our schools and the popular culture. That's why we ultimately pulled the older one out of school after 1st grade-to much brainwashing mixed in with math and reading. Figured WE would do the brainwashing instead....:)

I had a little bit of respect for Jackson after her performance in Nutty Professor 2, but now I have none. Here I thought the show would be ok to watch seeing as how Spears wasn't going to be in it. Guess I was wrong.

This was Timberlake's "revenge" for the Brittney/Madonna kiss. Just the latest in their manufactured little war. This is what pop stars do today, in lieu of making music. Interesting, I never thought of that. Be interesting to see or hear what Britney does next.

Just imagine what our service men and women who are putting their lives on the line every day around the world and were watching the Super Bowl must think of what they are fighting for. I can almost hear the hoots and cheers!

The farting horse commercial wasn't even funny. It was stupid. What was funny about it?
Here is a site about these ads.

I'm surprised to see there isn't as much talk about that "shards of Glass" ad. I thought CBS wasn't going to run ads from issue-oriented groups like MoveOn.org. Yet they allowed this one to run.

Thx. My comment was intended to be funny, but I am interested.....

Bet they were thrilled to know that their children can't watch a football halftime show without seeing a watered down porn show.

I haven't heard the following take on this before and would appreciate your comments. A) The nudity was enough of an issue B) It insults our intelligence to then stammer out the excuse that it was not planned, but isn't the bigger issue C) WHY IS A GUY RIPPING OFF A GIRLS CLOTHES IN THE FIRST PLACE??? I've heard that it was just supposed to pull off the leather and not the bra, but even if that was the plan (and its not), why is that acceptable?? Is that what we want to teach our young boys?? Its ok to rip off clothes of a woman???
.
What are these people thinking???
