CBS is claiming it had no idea that a Super Bowl half-time dance routine between Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake would feature the pop diva going partially topless. But four days before Ms. Jackson assaulted tens of millions TV viewers during the family hour with her R-rated moment, a press release by the company producing the show boasted that her dance would be "shocking."
"I don't think the Super Bowl has ever seen a performance like this," Jackson choreographer Gil Duldulao said, in a press release posted to MTV's web site on Jan. 28.
"The dancing is great. She's more stylized, she's more feminine, she's more a woman as she dances this time around. There are some shocking moments in there too."
CBS and NFL switchboards were flooded with complaints as millions of families gathered to watch what was supposed to be a wholesome family-oriented TV sports event.
But instead, a song laced with Timberlake's allusions to getting Jackson naked ended with him ripping off part of her top, exposing Jackson's tassled breast.
A statement issued by the NFL said it was unlikely that MTV would ever be allowed to produce another Super Bowl half-time show.
But despite the music network's boast that the "shocking" routine would show Jackson as "more of a woman as she dances around," CBS is calling her nudity "unexpected."

If it was an accident it was probably due to the malfunction of exposing only one side.

And
AP tried to whitewash the affair, with the following pathetic line,
"Entertainer Janet Jackson, left, covers her breast after her outfit came undone during the half time performance with Justin Timberlake."

I guess it/they looked better some time back. I noticed she had a white train as part of her costume probably to cover her ass which at her age and from the camera angle would have loomed "..........."

Does anyone have an address so that I can complain to the FCC?

The best add was the Budweiser Commercial of the cute little donkey who wanted to be a Clydesdale! That was the sweetest moment of an ugly night. Many of the commercials were very base too!!!

You are desensitized. It happens when you watch to much MTV.

"I am sorry that anyone was offended by the wardrobe malfunction during the halftime performance of the Super Bowl," Timberlake said in a statement. "It was not intentional and is regrettable."For cryin' out loud, if he'd yanked any harder on her costume, she'd have gone flyin' off the friggin' stage!

It occurs to me that perhaps this was MTV's way of counter-programming the highly-advertised PPV "Lingerie Bowl?" Who knew that the free broadcast show would show more than the PPV?

It's a shame that all this stuff has overshadowed a great game. Superbowls are rarely this close. Most are decided by 14 points are more. We had a great finished overshadowed by this nonsense. The commercials sucked. The content of the halftime show sucked. And now we'll be talking about this for...how long will the media allow us to talk about this?

By the way, if it was unexpected, why was she wearing a pasty & a tassle?

It was a dark night and a great finish to the game.
I loved the Budweiser commercial with the cute little donkey who, all his life, wanted to be a Clydesdale. That made my night! That little donkey was so cute.
I might have to get a donkey.

By the way, if it was unexpected, why was she wearing a pasty & a tassle? Look at the close-up on Drudge's website. It's not a pasty, it's a nipple ring that has the nipple exposed in the center with a post through it. She probably wears them all the time.
But for intents and purposes, it was a staged, planned event.

here in SF we see them in restaurants all the time during that lovely process What restaurants do you go to? Seriously, what restaurant have you seen that at? I'm in SF, and I'm a woman. I would complain LOUDLY if I ever saw that. If a woman wants to nurse her baby, she should do in the women's lounge. If there isn't one, then she could discreetly nurse her baby, with her breast covered. If she is exposing her breast, then I am going to complain. Only a very tacky woman would nurse her baby in public and be obvious about it. There's a way of doing it so that NOBODY would even know you're doing it.

Without a doubt; the worst half/time show I have ever seen for Super Bowl. Totally depressing and disgusting.
Not insulting enough; the American flag was dragged in and sullied as well.
Someone's head should 'roll' over this one.
