Statement by NFL Executive Vice President Joe Browne regarding the Super Bowl halftime show:
"We were extremely disappointed by elements of the MTV-produced Halftime show. They were totally inconsistent with assurances our office was given about the show. It's unlikely that MTV will produce another Super Bowl halftime."

If they had run MoveOn's ad during the halftime show, most conservatives would have probably breathed a sigh of relief! That is, if they hadn't already turned off the set. Yeah, I imagine MoveOn's got to feel vindicated at this turn of events -- their ad didn't meet CBS's broadcast standards, but all this halftime trash did?

I'll tell you the real problem with the halftime show: it sucked.Yeah, they really outdid themselves. I'd seen a number of godawful halftime shows (with the exception of the time Tony Bennett was half of the show), and I don't think I watched it at all last year, but they sank to a new low this year, as far as lack of talent is concerned.
But you have to understand that the whole thing was a plan to woo black, urban fans away from the NBA to the NFL, on the advice of ratings-guru Karl Rove.

Boob or no boob, the halftime show sucked. In fact I even missed the boob incident from not paying any attention to the show. Bored to tears doesn't adequately describe it.
I think I posted here last year how bad the show sucked but this is a new low in non-entertainment. I don't want a Disney show nor do I want a return of Michael Jackson/Brittany Spears/Aerosmith fiasco. Just a decent entertaining for everyone halftime show like it used to be.

You see, here's the thing buddy. I don't even have a television. Haven't owned one in over a decade. Jerry Springer is merely a literal reference to me. Once again you evade and avoid. Whether or not you have a television set in your home has no bearing on the discussion. You may think it gives you some kind of moral high ground not to have a television set, but you're mistaken. Once more I challenge you to pick up an unabridged copy of Augustine's 'The City of God'. After you've read it, report back.
Goodnight, Prodigal.

John Kerry is planning to have P. Diddy campaign with him. Kerry said how much he loved hip-hop (OK, he acted like the statement was ridiculous). Think this will become an issue for him?

The best Super Bowl ad (in my opinion) was shown in one of the games in the 80's.
It was a McDonald's advertisement shown before the game started. About half way through the ad, the TV went all static. I was at a party. To a person, we all went "ahhh, no!!!!" I have no doubt this happened all over the country.
The static lasted about 8-10 seconds and then McDonald's came back on and said something like "fooled ya!"

Wow, what are youall going to do when the girls get old enough to look in a mirror,Babies look in mirrors.
...or have to dress themselves?
I will probably let them dress themselves.
One of these days they are going to discover 'breasts',
Which they did as babies
...and what they are used for (to attract boys), and then later to 'keep' bigger boys, and then to 'nurse' smaller boys.
While I appreciate the anatomy lesson, I fail to see how your argument justifies my young daughters seeing Janet's floppy udder during the dinner hour. I enjoy watching sports with my family and am more than a little annoyed that I may have to avoid that now.

Results from the CBS poll during the broadcast half hour:
62% inappropriate
38% appropriate
The closing comment was that we're sure to hear more about this later today, to which the co-anchor responded, "I'm sure."
