Bush is a Republican Liberal. Bush believe Government is the solution, not the problem. His only difference with Liberals in the Democrat wing of the Liberal establishment is that his priorities for Big Government are slightly different from theirs - but with the same goal, complete subservience of/dependence on Americans to their government and its associated political class.

Given the objectives of both parties are the same, how can anyone justify supporting either party?

Oh yeah, with respect to the "giving your vote to Democrats" comments - the lesser of two evils is still evil. As long as people refuse to follow (and vote) their principles, evil prospers.

Vote for FREEDOM, not Republican/Democrat hegemony. Support the Constitution Party.

I could believe that this administration honestly feels this benefit was the right thing to do, but the fact that they lied about its true cost is inexcusable.

They should be ashamed.

The ole shell game

A pig in a poke

Those hold-out Pubbies who allowed Hassert's arm-twisting to change their 'no' vote might have serious explaining to their electorate if they intend on getting re-elected.

The only ones who supported this drug bill were the big insurance and drug companies (and yes, AARP org is primarily an insurance and drug selling company).

Do me a favor when you reach your destination called "the perfect world" how about sending me a post card. I believe that I will be waiting for a long time by the mailbox.

BTW, not a peep from this editorial about the demos plan which would have been $800 billion.

Oh that's correct, you are trying to help the demos, nevermind.

Whether Bush lied about its true cost is debatable. On the other hand, the fact that he didn't comprehend its true cost is reprehensible.

The editorial is about the fact that the cost of this plan was likely purposefully underestimated - not the Democrats' proposed plan.

Surely you think fiscal irresponsibility of this sort is a legitimate topic of discussion, right?

Good post.

I don't know that I'll vote third party, but I will not vote for Bush again.

Just putting the facts out there. I guess you don't like facts.

Of course by omitting the fact of the demos spending plan, makes for a good blood boiling editorial, which gives red meat for you all to chew on.

I am coming to the conclusion that this President is shameless. I am prompted to think so by his ridiculous recent proposal to have Congress legislate a control on spending....it was so Clintonesque.

It would have be DOA in the House last year if the truth had come out. Conservatives voted for it with the understanding costs would be kept in line. How do you think they feel now, that the true price tag of the law is a third higher than the original projection? Sure it may be cheaper than the Democrats gold-plated plan but that's not the point. The point is this was sold as a reform that would save money over the long haul and now we're finding its going to be the opposite. No wonder there's a rebellion brewing in Republican ranks.

Ah, the FR version of Nostradamus has arrived.

If you are so prescient, why didn't you predict 9/11 and save thousands of lives? With your unparalleled ability to predict the future, you must live in sartorial splendor from your winnings derived from your ability to predict the winners of every sports event.

Oklahoma's failure to secure the national football title should serve as a good illustration of the danger of predicting future events.

For me, I will work to do the Right thing with respect to the 2004 elections.

The Constitution Party is the best alternative to the tyranny of the Republicans and Democrats. If you wish to support the Liberal agenda and support Bush, if you refuse to act, even in the face of the suppression of your liberties (e.g. CFR), then all I can do is share the wisdom of Sam Adams:

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, - go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!

Samuel Adams, "American Independence," 1 August 1776 Occasion: Speech delivered at the State House in Philadelphia.

"I don't know that I'll vote third party, but I will not vote for Bush again."

You, and your fellow intellectuals, have repeated that montra here, several hundred times.

Frankly Scarlet, no on gives a hoot who you vote for, or if in fact you ever vote again.

A lot of us are feeling President Bush's losing might actually be a good thing. We need a good old fashioned dose of gridlock to set the Republican Party back on the right path again.
