CONSERVATIVES, LET US COME TOGETHER AGAINST LIBERALISM (vanity)

The destructive liberal agenda has created a plentiful harvest of problems. We see daily examples of what their ideas are doing to destroy America. We've reached the cliff in American society. We have to choose between jumping to our deaths and saving ourselves. Many of us would like to do more to stop their socialist anti-American agenda, but aren't sure where to start. There are so many important issues out there that it's difficult to make gains in any them. Solving that problem is the purpose of this thread.
We should join together with like-minded individuals to battle the problems that are most important to us. I propose that we come together here to identify those people who are similarly passionate about different issues. Comment on whatever subject you'd like to see changed (or not changed). Everything from abortion, gun control, public schools, the UN, or anything else. It would be helpful for several people that have studied a particular subject to come together and share ideas. I'll then help you "group together" and alert you all to a common thread from which you can meet and take action. I'll also direct new posters that share your interest to your group. If you are interested in lower taxes (for example) you can talk with others that also share that interest and plan action. For each topic, a group can send out press releases, call talk shows, identify news articles on the subject, start petitions, call and write representatives, and so on. If we work together, even if it's in small groups, we can make a difference.
It doesn't take a lot of people to make a difference. Look at all of the things in our country that have been done by just a handfull of liberals! Indeed one man sued on behalf of his daughter to have "under God" removed from the pledge. A small group of parents in New York got prayer yanked from schools. Let us come together and bring about change.
What do you think?

We simply need a loose organization of people around the various issues. Then we can be more effective at fighting each one.

I'd like to oppose liberlism. Here are my issues:
1. CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM. I am opposed to it, based on the limits it presents to free speech and the undemocratic advantages it provides for incumbents.
2. AMERICAN LIBERTIES. I'm for them. They've been eroded seriously over the past few years thanks to federal agents strip-searching innocent Americans everytime they travel, and the Department of justice depriving citizens of attorney and trial.
3. FOREIGN AID. Generally against it when not in the vital interest of American interests, including $15 billion in AIDS relief for Africa.
4. ENTITLEMENT GIVEAWAYS. Totally against, including $400 billion for a medicare prescription drug benefit for seniors.
5. TARIFFS AND TRADE BARRIERS. Against. Including tariffs on steel and agricultural products.
6. SUSIDIES. Against, including the recently-passed largest farm subsidy bill in American history.
7. FEDERAL MEDDLING IN EDUCATION. Against, including the largest increase in federal education spending in US history.
8. ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. Against. Need I say more?
9. FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY. For it. Against the double-digit increases in fedral spending, increase in the deficit, etc.
10. NATIONAL ENDOWMENT OF THE ARTS. Against federal funding and especially increases.
Oh, my gosh, it looks like the president I voted for is a liberal. Fool me once, shame on him. Fool me twice....

That's the problem that I've been having! I agree with you on those issues and there are a lot more that I'd like to see changed. You listed 10 things. My point is that there isn't enough time in the day to change 10 things. If we take them one at a time we can kill all of them. Out of your list, does any one thing ring out to you as especially needing change?

We already have the loose organization of people - it's called FreeRepublic.com
That being said, getting Conservatives to do anything major often requires a ton of hard work, dedication and willingness to get set back a notch or two, on a regular basis.
Whatever you do, don't get discouraged. And keep in mind that the change will begin with you. Are you doing everything possible to battle Liberalism? Often what will happen is that, if you are passionate enough about your issues, and dedicate your life to fighting the liberal invasion of your life, your example will eventually get them involved. When you have a passion for your cause, it will shine through in almost everything you do, and people will not be able to keep from being energized by your message.
I have a few ideas posted at my website. Perhaps it will be of some help. See my tagline.

Does that mean that you'd like to advocate a third party? Do you think that Republicans are becoming too liberal?

Is it fair to say that you're against RINO Republicans? Perhaps you can join up with others to make sure that truly conservative candidates are identified. You could also help look out for proposed bills and policy that have a liberal basis.

Against liberalism and against compromise with liberalism from within our own ranks?
That would be a battle worth fighting. To simply ignore it when it is a cancer eating away at ourselves and we choose to ignore it, we earn our own defeat.
We have to fight it wherever it appears, whether in Democrats OR Republicans.

Understood. However, we can still do something to combat each of the issues one by one. We're (conservatives in general) to scattered in opposition to liberals. We all hate abortion and anti-christianity, but we don't have anything to go up against NOW, planned Parenthood, and the ACLU. I'm simply suggesting that we identify those things that are most grievous to us so that people with similar interest can quickly combine forces, share ideas, and take action when needed. Thanks for your post and suggestions. I'll check out your website.

I think that if Bush continues to go to the left... by 2008 there will be a 3rd party...Christian conservatives will have to break away from Republicans.
In a perfect world:
Our Supreme Court would have the guts to strike down Roe V Wade PEOPLE ITS UNCONSTITUTIONAL
Immigration Amnesty would be a cruel joke the President was trying to play
Seperation of church and state-Why is it always the state wins? ie Roy Moore
Government Spending-Give me back my money after we pay for what this country actually needs as for NEA tell them until they stop making so called art about Jesus in a jar of pee they will never see a dime. and don't give me that freedom of speech crap...if I'm paying through my tax dollar's where is my freedom of speech?
UN-where do I start...they are criminals (majority of them on the list that just came our on who was making millions off Saddam) are a waste of our tax money. Why does this country pay for the UN to be here? Send them to liberal Europe where they belong
I could go on...but that seems enough for now.
BTW------even with all of our issues this country is still the best country in the world...when Christ returns all of this will be set straight until then good job for trying to make a difference.

good thread. you'll find that many on this site are more happy complaining, from their viewpoint of 100% conservative purity, rather than writing, calling, etc. It's a lot easier to complain that in is to say, I'm going to work to make a difference.

Perhaps you should see the following thread: I read that thread. Jim makes a great point, and I certainly will do everything possible to keep Democrats out of power. However, it's not only Democrats who are beholden to liberals. There are specific liberal movements (extreme environmentalism for example) that need to be tossed out just as bad as the Democrats do.

"We simply need a loose organization of people around the various issues"Already been done. There are thousands of them. They make a lot of money by soliciting contributions and selling/renting mailing lists.
Run for President and use federal matching funds to build/increase your mailing list of contributors. The more extreme you are the more names you acquire of people willing to contribute to lost causes.
Or simply borrow money from a bank to rent mailing lists from some of the people who have already used federal money to develop lists (Buchanan, Keyes etyc...); send out solicitation letters that are more extreme than the letters they are sending out and repay the bank loan with the contributions.
