Vietnam Veterans Against John Kerry
Vietnam Veterans Against John Kerry ^

Sen. Kerry, the "noble statesman" and "highly decorated Vietnam vet" of today, is a far cry from Kerry, the radical, hippie-like leader of Vietnam Veterans Against the War (VVAW) in the early 1970s. Soon after Kerry, as a Navy Lieutenant (junior grade) commanding a Swift boat in Vietnam, was awarded the Silver Star, he used an obscure Navy regulation to leave Vietnam and his crew before completing his tour of duty. After returing home, he quit the Navy early and changed the color of his politics to become a leader of VVAW. Kerry wasted no time organizing opposition in the United States against the efforts of his former buddies still ducking communist bullets back in Vietnam. Kerry participated in the so-called Winter Soldier Investigation where his fellow protesters accused his fellow GIs of war crimes. Kerry's betrayal of American prisoners of war, his blatant disrespect for the families of our missing in action, Vietnam veterans, the military, his support for communist Vietnam and his waffling over the issue of use of force in Iraq proves he is a self promoting Chameleon Senator who cannot be relied on to protect the best interests of the United States. Although Kerry voted to support military intervention in Iraq he is now claiming that he only approved the threat of force by the United States. The Constitution for the United States of America declares: "The President shall be Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the militia of the several States when called into the actual service of the United States; he may require the opinion, in writing, of the principal officer in each of the executive departments, upon any subject relating to the duties of their respective offices, and he shall have power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment." Read the following and decide for yourself if you trust this man to be our Commander-in-Chief

--------------------------------------------

In October 1969, Kerry began to associate with anti-war protestor, Adam Walinsky, a former speech writer for Robert F. Kennedy.

On Jan. 3, 1970, Kerry requested that his superior, Rear Admiral Walter F. Schlech, Jr., grant him an early discharge from the Navy so that he could run for Congress.

Kerry, a decorated veteran who seemed to be a clone of former President John F. Kennedy, right down to the military service on a patrol boat made a 1970 bid for Congress in Massachusetts' Third District.

Three-months later, when it became clear his opponent would get the Democratic Party nomination, Kerry dropped out.

Realizing that running for public office in Eastern Massachusetts as a decorated Vietnam veteran was not at that time politically correct, Kerry moved hard to the left.

He attended a February 1971, VVAW conference bankrolled by Jane Fonda, the group's most prominent promoter. Over 125 self-proclaimed Vietnam veterans testified at a Detroit Howard Johnson's about wholesale rape, torture, and murder they claimed U.S. soldiers committed in Vietnam.

Kerry later said he found the accounts shocking and irrefutable.

As a national leader of VVAW, Kerry campaigned against the effort of the United States to contain the spread of Communism. He used the blood of servicemen still in the field for his own political advancement by claiming that their blood was being shed unnecessarily or in vain. Under Kerry's leadership, VVAW members mocked the uniform of United States soldiers by wearing tattered fatigues marked with pro-communist graffiti. They dishonored America by marching in demonstrations under the flag of the Viet Cong enemy.

"Didn't Kerry toss his medals?"

From what I've heard, he tossed someone else's medals and claimed at the time that they were his.

If you consider not finishing your tour of duty and joining the VVAW in organizing protests with the Communists, Jane Fonda, etc. honorable then I suppose he was. I personally think his service was disgraceful and the circumstances under which he received his medal was questionable. It is politically correct to say that someone is heroic because he served, but the fact that he endangered even further the lives of his fellow soldiers upon returning home and lied about atrocities they committed (admitting later that he never actually witnessed these incidents) does not make him a hero. Nor does the fact that he was sweeping an investigation under the rug in the early 90's that could have potentially brought live POW/MIA's home make him deserving of honor. I'm sorry, but I just do not see it.

"I agree and to try to attack him on his time in the service "

As you can see I was talking about his time serving not after.

He was an opportunist and a skunk when he got back, but his service was evidently highly commendable

We have in our history a similar officer, one who gave commendable service, right up to the point when he gave aid and comfort to the enemy: Benedict Arnold.

When Kerry threw (whoever's) medals over the fence, and started hanging with the Hanoi Jane crowd he lost any claim to respect for his military service in my book.

He did not finish his tour of duty and used a loophole to leave - not very honorable. His behavior after his service cannot be severed from his time in Vietnam. Kerry is a disgrace - it appears that his service was not for his country or the defeat of communism, but for his political future - the same reason he is running for president.

Here's one criticism of Kerry some of you won't like - he volunteered for the US Navy at the very height of the Viet Nam War.

In fact, his draft cohort yielded up the LARGEST number of draftees for the Infantry and the Marine Corps in American history.l

Still, he managed to enlist in the Navy!

The price to join the National Guard was $800. What was it to get into the Navy?

Some of you folks beating up on Kerry know the price ~ I've always been curious about it. Let's see what John had to pay.

The site is back up on two addresses. They want to start a site for each state to keep from running out of bandwidth.

How many Boat People ended up like Mary Jo Kopechne so that this narcissistic poodle could have a career as Boy Toy to the Jane Fondas of this country?

John Kerry was as wrong to take it out on the troops in the 70s, as he is to take it out on the troops today (failing to vote for spending supporting the troops in 2003).

Kerry went mental and took it out on the troops from 1969 to 1972. When did GWB serve in the guard ?

I had never heard of the three purples and you get a ticket home. In fact I have yet to meet anyone that ever heard of it. Makes you wonder how Kerry found it.
