Kerry: Citizenship For Anyone In US For Five Years
Democrat Primary Debate ^ | Sep 4, 2003 | John Kerry

Posted on 01/29/2004 9:02:15 AM PST by Hon

Question: Would you support legalizing undocumented immigrants in this country?

Kerry: Absolutely. I supported and was prepared to vote for amnesty from 1986. And it is essential to have immigration reform. Anyone who has been in this country for five or six years, who's paid their taxes, who has stayed out of trouble, ought to be able to translate into an American citizenship immediately, not waiting.

Why should I bash the 'rats? This is exactly the kind of thing that can be expected of them.

Are you suggesting that maybe we should quit complaining about GWB and his fellow elitists as well, since it's apparent that this sort of thing can be expected from them also.

Hm, how does Kerry propose to accurately determine whether or not illegal aliens have "paid their taxes" and "stayed out of trouble"?

That's cause they (we?) ain't votin' for 'Rats.
We're contemplatin' votin' fer Bush, but he seems determined to give us reason NOT to vote fer him.

"I'm not as bad a Democrat" ain't much of a reason to vote for President Bush.

Pardon my stupidity but how many illegals pay taxes?

I must say though, that there's little difference between he and Bush on this one

The "Skull & Bones" boys rat out the middle class at every opportunity - one faction giving the perks to the rich & the other the handouts to the so-called poor. And always the important agendas always move to the left. So watch out if the Kerry wins as the Supreme Court will be flooded with anti-Americans. Then the elites can message the sheeple that it was the Dems that did this as they will do it with the other factions noncombatants . If GW wins as expected don't plan on any true conservatives entering the SC - just as his 1st term. Then possibly this country will see what phonies they all are in their cartel & vote outside of the box.

John Kerry has been getting a government pay check for the lats 27 years. If he has worked in the private sector, I haven't found it. Maybe he caddied or mowed lawns in the summer and that's the full extent of his private sector work experience.

every illegal filing for permanent status right now pays taxes. They prepare their back taxes too. It is part of the application process.

Do they pay befor they start the application process no.

The "they pay taxes" argument is BS since taxes are only paid when they want something. It is also an insignificant amount of money given their incomes and service utilization.

Oh. My. Gawd.

This is beyond Clinton's or Gore's wildest dreams.

The country has moved way, way, way left in 3 years.

But some of the people basing Bush are willing to vote for Kerry.

I've seen a lot of "Bush bashing" (if that's what you insist on calling it) around here lately, but I've yet to see a FR "Bush basher" advocate voting for Kerry, or Dean, or any of the Dims.

So, if you follow the last post I did, its still 10-12 years to apply for citiznership. You have to get a green card before you can apply for citiznership. So they are still 5 years behind.

They can file five years after receiving green cards, and get their citizenship a year or two after that.

Assume 3 "guest worker" years, and call it 10 years total.

You're still rewarding Illegals with citizenship.

In addition, Illegals definitely aren't five years behind those foreign nationals who are still waiting in line, playing by the rules, and didn't come in Illegally.

Hard to find 8 million and kick them out.

They know where to find themselves, and kick themselves out.

The solution, in large part, is self-deportation of Illegal Aliens.

They Will Deport Themselves

once an illegal applies for legalization they start to pay taxes. It is just part of the process. If an illegal is not applying for status, they do NOT file taxes.

Kerry claims to have sold encyclopedias door to door and unloaded trucks.

It's not very likely considering that even before he married his first rich wife he had FOUR trust funds in his name.

Not just INSANE BUT CERTIFIABLE! Kerry is dead above the shoulders and totally irrelevant. Take away all the Kennedy money and influence and he would dry up and blow away like dust. What a putz!

And the Bush Bashers equate Kerry to Bush in this regard or say "little difference". I think there is a huge difference...

------
I agree. There is a huge difference. But I don't like either plan. The existing laws need to be enforced. The welfare goodies that they come here to get need to be eliminated. In fact, welfare goodies for us needs to be eliminated too. I believe that word of either of these plans only makes them more determined to come here.

I ask again...Do mosquitos go where there is no blood to suck?

You do not have to catch them all, just start deporting them.

Overstays are easiest to remove. Hook up the deportation orders with the NCIC. Heck, hook up I-94 overstay data to the NCIC. Every arestee is run through NCIC, if a illegal immigrant pops up, an imigration hold is put on them.

If anyone saw O'Reily last night, Judge Colton has just helped to push illegals away from palm beach because they now know that border partol will be called by "some judge".

(odd given how many illegals the Palm Beach wealthy hire.)
