Coulter Lambastes Kerry on Finances

Conservative provocateur Ann Coulter had Democratic strategist Kiki McClean fuming Wednesday night after she rolled one of her patented rhetorical hand grenades right into the Democratic Party's victory tent.

"If we are going on personal experience then John Kerry can't really speak to the middle class tax cut in as much as he is a kept man," Coulter told Fox News Channel's "Hannity & Colmes" as McClean looked on.

"He lives off the money made by other men, and left to their daughters or wives," she explained. "He's a gigolo and a cad. His income comes from pursuing lonely rich women."

Stunned by the allegations, a sputtering McClean shot back, "You know, Ann, even for you that's going a little bit far. . . That's a really nasty personal attack."

To which Coulter replied, "What's wrong about my facts?"

Moments later, when Alan Colmes complained that Coulter's description of Kerry's finances was "mean," she responded, "Nobody has contested me on the facts, I notice."

Kerry married ketchup heiress Teresa Heinz, who is said to be worth over a half billion dollars, after divorcing wealthy socialite Julia Thorne, whose family is reportedly worth $200 million.

There are many and certainly somebody has tried to catalog them before. One of my favorites is Rush's line about when the left uses the term "bigot".

A "bigot" is somebody who is winning an argument with a liberal.

What worries me that someone will bring up her anorexia in retaliation. I'm not sure we need such a tit for tat battle of words creating a smokescreen for the Demorats to hide their incompetence behind. Let's keep to the real issues.
Miss Coulter's anorexic? Gotta link?

Pot, meet Kettle... whereas Miss Coulter's weight has nothing to do with her politics, "John Kerry can't really speak to the middle class tax cut in as much as he is a kept man."

Thanks for that rundown, mattdono.

You provided the facts, but I live near Dallas and remember well the high regard for Bush by baseball fans throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area for his instrumental role in reversing the fortunes or The Rangers, the huge turnout for the stadium referendum, the full and fair public discussion, the absolute delight of fans and civic leaders and businesses with the new stadium, etc, etc.

RLK is indeed full of DU-DU.

...but a senior republican senator got the best of both worlds, the money w/o the encumbrance of a spouse...

This would be interesting if this Republican ran for president on a platform lambasting the world of money and privilege. I don't know of anyone who thinks Kerry shouldn't have been allowed to marry rich, but it's a hoot that he thinks he can use inherited wealth to gain office while opposing wealth.

As a citizen of the People's Republic of Massachusetts, I'm here to say that John Kerry has a snowball's chance in hell

--------------------------

I'm not as certain as you are. My evaluation is that, much like the Clintons, he can be arrogantly psychopathic, and he's a little bit nuts. However, those traits don't make a difference today. They are characteristics of recent generations and those generations perceive and support their own clan.

Bush on the board not worth much, says Carlyle founder The Telegraph, (UK) ^ | Wednesday, 9 July, 2003 | Simon English in New York Posted on 07/08/2003 7:48:00 PM PDT by Willie Green For education and discussion only. Not for commercial use.

Carlyle Group, the powerful investment house with close links to the Bush family, is facing acute embarrassment after the emergence of sardonic remarks the company founder made about the president.

In a talk to investors, David Rubenstein said George W Bush did little but tell dirty jokes while on the board of a company owned by Carlyle, and that he wouldn't have appeared in the top 25m people he would have suggested for president of the US.

Carlyle employs the first President Bush and a host of other luminaries including John Major and former US defence secretary Frank Carlucci. It has been the target of conspiracy theorists for its high-level political connections and its work as a defence contractor.

Mr Rubenstein said Mr Bush was hired to be a non-executive director of Caterair, the world's largest airline food business that Wall Street dubbed Craterair, in the early 1990s.

"Somebody came to me and said: 'Look there is a guy who would like to be on the board. He's kind of down on his luck a bit. Needs a job… could you put him on the board? Pay him a salary and he'll be a good board member and be a loyal vote for the management and so forth,'" he said in a speech to a Los Angeles pension fund.

Of Mr Bush's performance, he added: "He … came to all the meetings. Told a lot of jokes. Not that many clean ones. And after a while I said to him, after about three years: 'You know, I'm not sure this is really for you… because I don't think you're adding that much value. You don't know that much about the company.'"

He did not think Mr Bush would go far in politics, saying: "If you said to me, name 25m people who would maybe be president of the United States, he wouldn't have been in that category. So you never know. Anyway, I haven't been invited to the White House for any things."

Mr Bush's business background is somewhat controversial. He was investigated in the early 1990s for insider trading in Harken Energy shares by the Securities & Exchange Commission, but was not charged. Carlyle hit the headlines after the terror attacks of September 11, 2001, when it emerged the estranged family of Osama bin Laden invested with the company. The family has since sold its small stake. Bush held, and was supported by, several such positions simultaneously for a good sum of money. That's how he lived.

When thinking of Ms. Coulter and this line, I'm reminded of what Dennis Miller once said: "What is 'tat', and where do I turn it in for the other thing?"

"Well, not to mention names, but a senior republican senator got the best of both worlds, the money w/o the encumbrance of a spouse, when he divorced his nutty as a fruitcake wife and was paid off handsomely by her billionaire dad."

Mention names. Who are you talking about?

Bless you Ann Coulter, you can call a spade a spade.

This is why the DemonRats hate her so. She pointedly illustrates that Democrats don't use facts, they lie, when confronted with the truth, they name call.

So sorry I missed that.

Well, I'll at least give him credit for trading up.

They jerk around in their younger years supported by parents, family name, wives, or whatever until they can worm their way into politics, which is their only area where they are not unemployable. It's true of the Kerrys, the Gores, the Bushs, the Kennedys, or whoever.

Give me a break! Bush has held productive jobs and even made a payroll, unlike the three parasitic 'Rats in your list.

I didn't know about rich wife #1

He didn't just divorce her (and leave their two children behind, after traipsing around hollywood with a series of trollop starlets) he tried to get the marriage annulled so that he could marry the ketchup money... er... widow, in the catholic church. Tell me how you can annul a marriage that produced children? Oh, he had Kennedy's helping him, of course.
