Thanks for the pings--this is delicious. I'm reading 'em as fast as I can, and loving every minute of it. This discredits a huge number of our enemies, big time.

There were so many, I got confused about what I had pinged you to and what I hadn't pinged you to.

Then there were some articles on "oil for food" so I pinged those, too!

And if you get a chance, watch the replay of David Kay's testimony today; not only did he have a lot of new information that the media isn't reporting, he slapped Kennedy and Carl Levin around. It was too good! Great day all in all.

Thanks for the pings--this is delicious.

That's just the right word for it...delicious. Of course, we all knew this, but finding a paper trail is a dream come true. Please oh please let it be an unbroken roll of Charmin leading irrefutably to their very front doors.

The Beneficiaries of Saddam's Oil Vouchers: The List of 270
The Beneficiaries of Saddam's Oil Vouchers ^

The following report from MEMRI's Baghdad office is a translation of an article which appeared in the Iraqi daily Al-Mada,(1) which obtained lists of 270 companies, organizations, and individuals awarded allocations (vouchers) of crude oil by Saddam Hussein's regime. The beneficiaries reside in 50 countries: 16 Arab, 17 European, 9 Asian, and the rest from sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America. Only a portion of the 270 recipients are listed and identified.

Please ping all of your friends to this incredible thread.

Here you go: ping! I picked a lot of these people off the Flight 11 911 Audio thread. I many of you are like me: thirsting for vengance and still waiting for that special Carthaginian moment.

Do NOT mess with the USA, lest you find your soil tilled with salt.

Carthage now

This adds irony to the sponsors of the "no war for oil" protests, doesn't it?

According to the French private information channel LCI, 200 people are named in that list. These people are from the following countries : South Africa, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Bahrain, Belarus, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Cyprus, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Spain, the United States, France, Great Britain, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Jordan, Kenya, Lebanon, Libya, Malaya, Morocco, Nigeria, Oman, Panama, the Philippines, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Syria, Chad, the Palestinian Authority, Thailand, Ukraine, Yemen and Yugoslavia.

These people who be relatives of Cabinet members, prominent politicians, high-ranking political leaders, reporters, etc. Out of these 200 people, 11 would be French, among which Charles Pasqua, former Interior Minister (1986-1988 and 1993-1995), that betrayed Chirac for Balladur in 1993.

Because of his betrayal and of Chirac's vengeance, Pasqua has held no government charge since 1995, Pasqua denies all, but, to tell you the truth, it's exactly the kind of things he'd do. I have heard his son Pierre would also be involved, but no confirmation about that.

Sorry to disappoint you, but Chirac is not named in any source I know of. I wish the complete list is published soon, so as to clarify the situation and end the little game of finger-pointing.

It's going to take time to sort out the truth. I'm interesting in these revelations, but the sad thing is that there were Saddam supporters (by opposing the war) who weren't paid, who had no sympathy for terrorists, and who really didn't intend to cause any harm to anyone.

It may not be outright treachery that is the undoing of democracy in the west. It may be political correctness that kills us in the end.

Yes, the fact people WILLINGLY defended Saddam's regime FOR FREE is perhaps more frightening that the fact officials accepted bribes...

But nevertheless, this list must be published, handed over, broadcast time after time. I work for a regional government, and to me there are a few things that are sacred : when you're paid by the taxpayers' money, as an anonymous public servant or as a prominent Minister, you MUST have an inflexible morality. You MUST deserve your rank and your pay. When you're in a honored position, you MUST honor that position.

As for ol' Charlie Pasqua, the Iraqi government should incriminate him and demand his extradition. Either he comes clean, or he enjoys the hospitality of the Baghdad prisons.
