Cute cartoon, but I do hope Mike asked Scott Adams's permission to filch his main character...

Actually, I think that copyright laws would not apply in this particular instance. It is satire.

Actually, I think that copyright laws would not apply in this particular instance. It is satire. He's not satirizing Dilbert, just using the character in another satire, so using Dilbert without permission would likely put him on shaky ground. On the other hand, Dilbert is kind of a "public figure" so he may have a slim chance, but I doubt it. In any case, I'll bet he got permission, and even if he didn't Adams probably thought it funny so wouldn't sue for infringement.

Adams probably thought it funny so wouldn't sue for infringement.I believe that most cartoonists tolerate a little satire among themselves. Just an observation, I'm not in the business.

Dilbert is amusing but did you ever look at the author and how he started Dilbert? He could have moaned and groaned about what do I do next? Blah, blah, blah. No, instead, he did some of that THEN he created Dilbert. He capitalized on an UNMET that was WANTED. Others can be just as creative and carve out a new career as well.

It's hard to keep ahead of Dilbert. He was outsourced last year, but the work being done in India was subcontracted back to Dilbert's company because the wages were lower.

Pretty soon the Bush Bashers will come here in 5.. 4.. 3.. 2.. They have plenty of time on their hands these days because they assumed an undergrad degree in computer programming was going to guarantee them a six figure salary forever and they refuse to go back to school or accept a salary commensurate with their talent levle supply pool.

Yep, but finding that talent to apply elsewhere is an act of faith, courage, and often necessity.
To: Billthedrill
Cute cartoon, but I do hope Mike asked Scott Adams's permission to filch his main character...If you look in the top left corner, you'll see "Apologies to Scott Adams". Non-gratuitous filching of comic characters is usually overlooked when such disclaimers are included.
