A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day....01-27-04....Political Pictionary, III
Billie

A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Last, but certainly not least, I couldn't decide which quote to use, so I'm leaving it all up to you to decide....or submit your own. (Now, unlike our own Freezie's "contests", this is just for fun; the prize is your own satisfaction for knowing your subjects well. :)

Hope you got home safe and in one piece dutchess. We don't have any slickness so far. Just some snow and it melted yesterday and then this afternoon we had a sudden blinding squall that lasted about 15 minutes and then the sun came out. Nothing on the roads.

Perhaps these quotes are being saved for down the road during the race to the Finish Line!

That would have more impact on the general populace than trotting them out now, getting lost/overlooked in the present turmoil.

Hit 'em with it when they least expect it, thinking they have 'won?'

That sounds just like what we had here last January, Sistah. It was like a war zone with trees exploding everywhere. Whole forests were basically leveled. We had to spend three days in a motel because we are all electric. We're holding our breath that we don't have any of that stuff this year. The forests are repairing themselves pretty well. I feel bad for those who have investments in trees.

Thank God you were spared. I keep you surrounded by the protective light of God all the time. I was talking about you today with a friend. Telling her about our meeting and how the Lord worked it all out for us to meet when we did. Loveya Sistah mine.

LOL! Well, as it turned out, fate had other plans for me. The best laid plans of mice and men, you know. Within an hour of making that post it clouded up and started to rain. (If you check that link I sent yesterday you will see that I actually did work a bit more on our masterpiece......then I got restless and went to the mall.) :-)

LOL. Don't you just hate when that happens? But a trip to the mall sounds okay. I'll check it out MB. I'm going to Charleston early in the morning to meet with some legislators concerning some funds to save our local historical theater. Hope we don't have any more snow tonight. We are watching Animal Planet tonight hoping to see Jack's son (also named Jack). He's supposed to be on the show that airs at 10:00, and I'm assuming that is EST. If it's 10:00 central then it will be later here. I think he's running a horse rescue of some kind. He's got lots of money so he can do things like that.

You did know I was kidding about the Vietnam thing, right?

He only mentions it every 3 minutes.

I've got one on the frame being top stitched, one with only the border to top stitch, one waiting for the border and top panel to be put on (can't find the right shade of real dark brown for the borders) and then I've got to top stitch it (this one is a year or more of work it looks like), and another on the shelf to finish top stitching and at least 5 more in my head. The new quilt program I was loaned has my brain whirling.

But it still would make a pretty quilt border.

Coming in from Heathrow Airport

At Heathrow Airport in England, a 300 ft. red carpet was stretched out to Air Force One and Pres. Bush strode to a warm but dignified handshake from QEII.

They rode in a silver 1934 Bentley to the edge of London where they boarded an open 17th century coach hitched to six magnificent white horses.

As they rode toward Buckingham Palace, each looking to their side and waving to thousands of cheering Brits lining the streets, all was going well. This was indeed a glorious display of pageantry and dignity.

Suddenly the scene was shattered when the right rear horse let rip the most horrendous, earth-shattering, eye-smarting blast of flatulence, and the coach immediately filled with noxious fumes.

Uncomfortable, but maintaining control, the two dignitaries did their best to ignore the whole incident, but then the Queen decided that was a ridiculous manner with which to handle a most embarrassing situation. She turned to Pres. Bush and explained, "Mr. President, please accept my regrets. I'm sure you understand that there are some things even a Queen cannot control."

George W., ever the Texas gentleman, replied, "Your Majesty, please don't give the matter another thought. You know, if you hadn't said something, I would have assumed it was one of the horses."

Good grief Gail! How do you have time to do all that? I'd go nuts with that much unfinished business laying around.

Beautiful "That's My Sistah!" graphic, Nan!
I, too, look back on July as Divine Providence, getting to meet you and Jack at 'just the right time.'

Keeping all your prayer needs in mind daily, and I truly cherish our 'kinship.'

It certainly was an eye opener, seeing so many quotes assembled in one letter.

Can be sprung again in future conversations with liberal debaters..:))

There you are! Can you get Animal Planet on your TV? Looks like Jack's son is going to be part of the Animal Cops Houston program coming up.
