-- Even Peter Jennings Is Appalled!

JENNINGS: At one point Mr. Moore said in front of you that he'd like to see a debate between you and President Bush, who he called a deserter.
Now that's a reckless charge not supported by the facts and I was curious to know why you didn't contradict him and whether or not you think it would have been a better example of ethical behavior to have done so?
CLARK: Well, I think Michael Moore has the right to say whatever he feels about this. I don't know whether this is supported by the facts or not. I've never looked at it. I've seen this charge bandied about a lot. But to me it wasn't material. . . . And I'm delighted to have the support of Michael Moore . . . .

He's just bombed the Chinese Embassy. Metaphorically speaking, of course.

Yes, he did.
That was Thursday night, and Clark said he hadn't "looked into the charges" himself to know if Moore was on to something there with President Bush.
So along comes yesterday morning and he's on MTP and Russert asks him and Clark STILL claims he hasn't "looked into the charges" of desertion.
Of course, we all know he's pleased as punch to let Moore spread this story, then Clark steps back with a shrug and disclaims any association.
Clinton is getting his jollies out of seeing this out there, you can bet.

Clark said he hadn't "looked into the charges" himself to know if Moore was on to something there with President Bush. Hold the phone! You mean Clark wasn't there at his own campaign stop? And that it's on his own website?

Yup. Makes putting Hillary in the race now as VP candidate or in '08 as the POTUS candidate a whole lot easier should this idiot win the nomination.

Oh, yes...he was there. But his position is Michael Moore is entitled to say whatever he pleases and even if it is a Clark event, he, Clark, ought not be held responsible for what his supporters are saying.
See?
You just KNOW he would hold the other candidates, and George W. Bush to the same standard......er, right? </sarcasm>
To: BurkesLaw
I doubt Jennings was as appalled as much as he was attempting to put the issue of GW 's service front and center.

Is it like a conspiracy? All iconoclast threads are excerpted. Why is that?
Did they sue us or what?

Clark is known by the company he keeps.
To: BurkesLaw
So, when someone says that Wes Clark was relieved from command in Kosovo, Clark would agree that they have a right to do so...
Clark disputes that he was relieved from command.
To: demnomo
Jennings asked this because the media want Clark out of the race. They have decided he is unelectable.
