At this point I don't know what to think. But he posted that about 8:00 in the morning I think. So this morning at 8am would be D day for that info. I am a little worried that the chatter has gone to nothing. Almost like the the terrorists are too busy right now to talk. And I found 15 copies of that new virus in one of my email accounts. Very strange. Many different file names including .Zip, .pif, .scr

this new virus may well explain the lack of posts to these boards; IT shops are shutting down servers and LANs for cleansing of these things.

I am not a real supporter of the Patriot act over all. But the part that the court struck down does not make any sense. It is almost like they want to protect terrorists.

i was honestly testing offline comments in freepmail from Myrddin.
Myrddin was right though. I was spooked cause I didn't realize something that Myrddin said was true. Myrddin went the extra mile though to substantiate.
I was on a thread that lent a heads up to falcons being brought into the USA. I have even done off of this board work on it from an independent contract of my business (independent of the Net).
These two are connected. So I personally think it is a REAL concern.
See below. (begin freep mail)
The comment about the falcon flying was made in the
first thread. It occurred a few days prior to the EOM
trip to Mexico.

If the new virus is attached to emails, how does it affect posts to a chat site?

The Montgomery one stood out. I was searching for oddities in the Houston area and that's the first thing that popped up.
To: Revel
That's good.
However, the google search in itself was interesting.

two possible answers:
- the same servers are used for mail as well as message boards.
- in our shop, entire sections of the LAN are taken down to isolate them and then clean the mail servers there, so everything on that subnet goes down for a time.

LOL!
We usually watch one football game per year on TV and we save it for the Super Bowl. I'd much rather be out playing our own sports!

America's Ports Ar Risk!!!
WASHINGTON - America's seaports are vulnerable targets
that have attracted
interest from terrorists, an FBI counterterrorism
official told senators Tuesday.
"The intelligence we have certainly points to ports as
a key vulnerability,"
said Gary M. Bald, inspector-deputy assistant director
of the FBI's
counterterrorism division. "I can't be more specific
as to the threats of
attacks. We have received information that indicates
there is an interest."
Bald and officials from the Coast Guard and Customs
Service said they've
made progress in securing the nation's 361 ports,
which receive about 6
million cargo containers from overseas each year.
Robert Jacksta, executive director of border security
and facilitation for
the Customs Service, said 5.4 percent of cargo
containers entering the
nation's ports in the 2003 fiscal year were inspected.
He said that was
nearly double the percentage from 2002 and "it's
important to note we think
this is the right 5.4 percent."
Jacksta said the inspections are getting results and
have found contraband
goods and evidence of inaccurate ship manifests.
Sens. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., and Dianne Feinstein,
D-Calif., who convened the
hearing of the Senate Judiciary subcommittee on
terrorism, technology and
homeland security, said more must be done. Measures to
protect seaports and
waterways have lagged behind efforts aimed at airports
and airplanes since
the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
"The ports are the soft underbelly of our nation's
security," Feinstein
said.
The Coast Guard still is assessing how many ships,

Depends on the site I guess. No danger here because anything like that is filtered out. You can't even run scripts here.

HONG KONG, Jan. 21 (Xinhuanet) -- Hong Kong Agriculture, Fisheriesand Conservation Department (AFCD) found H5N1 virus in a dead Peregrine Falcon on Wednesday and has stepped up monitoring of biosecurity measures at chicken farms and surveillance of wild birds.
AFCD's Assistant Director Lai Ching-wai said that, the presence of H5N1 virus in the Peregrine Falcon poses no immediate threat to public health. The measures taken are aimed to prevent any outbreak of avian influenza in chickens.
