We discussed this thread one. This is an update to the story.

Wife of suspected French terrorist now accepts he duped her

SYDNEY: The Australian wife of suspected terrorist Willie Brigitte still wants to visit him in a French jail, despite reportedly accepting that he duped her and may have been planning a terrorist attack here, her lawyer says.

Melanie Brown had declared she would stand by the 35-year-old Frenchman, but retracted her support after listening for four days to French authorities, who presented her with the case against Brigitte, The Australian newspaper reported. (snipped)

Thank you, your list is even larger than one that I looked at.

February 6, 2003 pipeline break, right couldn't have happened any other way.

November 18, 2003 Sen. Wellstone, they say everything but the fact that one of the pilots was a converted muslim and had a prison record. (from an article I recall reading some place, back when it happened.)

June 3, 2003 blame it on a cell phone.........

Thanks Calpernia very much for the antivirus link. Question for you, when you choose your location and then click on go, is the system suppose to another screen or give you an indication that it is scanning?

They sure do! Here, in south Jersey just outside of Philly, the snow is piling up. I imagine alot of folks will be housebound tomorrow.

You get a separate window that pops up. Don't close that window, nor the main one to the website. You can pop another browser and continue surfing.

In regard to credibility for that site, I was referred to it from Microsoft Corp. Level 2 tech support. That software also came downloaded on my Lynsus Router.

I am not claiming it's terrorist related, but it illustrates how bad something like this can be:

From Australia Daily Telegraph

http://dailytelegraph.news.com.au/story.jsp?sectionid=1258&storyid=814692
Huge ethanol blast at Port Kembla

Hundreds of workers from a 500-metre radius around the site have been evacuated, for fear the fire could spread to a nearby tank containing millions of litres of crude oil and marine fuel.

Flames were leaping about 60 metres into the air, and plumes of black smoke are rising from the fire.

The blast was felt as far as 25km away.

Firefighters rushed from Sydney to help fight the fire while thousands of litres of foam are also being shipped to the scene to smother the blaze.

The intensity of the fire and surrounding tanks laden with fuel has so far forced firefighters to adopt a defensive strategy, but that will change once the foam arrives.

We heard that we might have a power outage due to ice on the wires. The power has been fine so far, but strangely, we have had heavy thunder at times. Bottom line, the snow is gorgeous!

I read these at my Univ library job around 1966.

It's amazing how many have come true already in the years since then.

Sigh.

Sometimes, I've had a tagline saying . . .

Usually, the true conspiracies are never proven as such until it's far too late.

I think the screamers about posting such things really turned Jim R off about a whole big bunch of stuff that has at least some truth

AND SOME

criticality regarding the preservation of the Republic and the Constitution--the reasons for this site existing.

Yet, they are all construed persistently as totally tinfoil.

sigh.

There's a possibility that might not be thunder. When we got hit with a bad ice storm back in the 90's, I thought the same thing; weird that we were having thunder during freezing rain and sleet. Turns out it was the sound of transformers blowing all over this area.

Nukes are "use it or lose it" in the absence of a large and extensive infrastructure to maintain them. They are complex devices that contain precision electronics, various reactive chemical compounds, and radioactive elements that emit neutrons (which affect the electronics and reactive chemical compounds). They have a finite shelf life--which is much less than a year.

Poohbah - just curious..are you speaking from direct experience, or (like a lot of us) things you've read on the 'net?

It occurs to me that there are a LOT of Rusky/Pakistani/N. Korean scientists who are available for hire, and lots and LOTS of "material" floating around to "service" rogue nukes.

I would like to believe the "it takes too much maintenance for these to remain active" angle VERY much, but I am of the (uneducated and uniformed) opinion that there are most likely ways around the "shelf-life" issue.

Any thoughts?

TIA..

You know, I don't imagine this helps one bit, but I've been conserving electricity down here, hoping it might help, up there. :( Encouraging others to do it too. If it doesn't help y'all, my power bill will like it. :)
