Over the river and through the blizzard,
to FReeper homes we go.
The cars know the way and the trains don't stray,
even in the snow-ow!
How was your journey?
Hope you're not in a gurney!
But standing up okay!
Just post it here
if you're home this year,
to FReep another day!

This is as far as we've gotten so far!
It was just fine until we hit a blizzard wall and the roads started getting too icy to travel on. Considering that it is only 18 degrees outside, it should have been fine, but these moronic highway departments put a sand/brine mixture down that turned perfectly good snow into ice.
How was everyone's CPAC experience?

My CPAC experience was limited to seeing Bill Frist's excellent speech (and Art Linkletter's delightful introduction of him) on C-SPAN. Nice not to have two 'Rat events on simultaneously (C-SPAN and C-SPAN2) for a change!

My trip home was just fine... but I live in NoVA so I just hopped on the metro. :)
Seriously, I pray everyone gets home safely. Much of the country will see some really severe winter weather for the next day or so.

Hello!
- Just signed on to this site after learning of it from some great people at my first CPAC!
I made it home safely to PA this morning ahead of the rotten weather and I've already started a fund to save up for the conference next year!
For those of you that I spoke with in the bar last night - thanks for introducing me to the site and thank you for a very enjoyable last evening in Arlington!

Hey, TaxRelief. Connie and I got back home to Canada about ten minutes ago. Clear roads all the way and a great time left behind in Washington, D.C.

Hi, TaxRelief! It was
so nice to meet both of you at CPAC.
We are home in Connecticut safe and sound, and haven't seen any snow YET. Fortunately we made it out of the DC area in plenty of time (heard the snow started there around 5 or 6pm?). We even had time to stop for a couple of hours at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum (and recruited a new FReeper there!) on the way home.
I just found your thread a few minutes ago... I already posted my CPAC experiences here: LIVE FROM CPAC!
I sincerely hope we see you at another FR event sometime soon. In the meantime... um... we'll keep the conversation away from the Super Bowl*, I guess! :-)

It's 18 below up here in Vermont. I just went to pick up one of my kids and was pleasantly surprised that the car started (I forgot to plug it in).

I got REAL lucky.
I missed the storms on my 8 1/2-9 hour drive back. It was just cold. I saw someone spin out on one of the mtn curves about 200 yards in front of me on the PA turnpike. That was scary.

Sure. You people heading NORTH had no problem!
We found out that Holiday Inn has a $39.95 "snow rate"!
It was great meeting you guys. And I will not discuss football, either, other than to say I hope I get out of Lynchburg, VA before Sunday.

It was wonderful to meet you and Connie at CPAC. Good luck in the next year. I am thankful that you made it home before the storm -- after all the false reports, we are being blanketed by the white stuff now.
Just freepmail or call if the D.C. Chapter can be of any help to Free Dominion and let me know when the Canadian CPAC gets organized.
Give my regards to Connie and FReep On!

Actually, not soon enough. :(
And it's the fault of Bad Ray and his harem. They kept us completely distracted until it was too late too "bug out".
