This must be where the saying "An Army of One" originated. Failed to follow the direction of Secretary of Defense. Why is this scum drawing a retirement check? Why is he not on trial/in jail?

Doing an "end-around" is a certain way to get fired. I'd have fired him myself and enjoyed it.

Is this the same Newsweek that ran a fantasy article which left the reader with the impression that a poll of Democrats in New Hampshire was a national poll showing that Kerry would beat GW in the general election? Yes, it is.

"Why is he not on trial/in jail?"

Because he's Bill Clinton's pet general, that's why.

For being first in his class at West Point, Wesley can't be too smart. This story has the smell of Hillary all over it. (I know, that's not a good thought.)

He should have seen this coming.

"You people always want to bomb someone. It's some kind of orgasm." Albright silenced the men in the room by remarking, "I forget what an orgasm is."

I'll bet that did silence them. Who wants to deal with the vision of Halfbright and orgasms!

Was Clark going around them? Not really. As NATO commander, Clark told NEWSWEEK, "I wore two hats."

The issue is not an issue of "who" his bosses were, but rather an issue of being a straight shooter. Apparently, Clark didn't level with Shelton. One of the 4 c's critical to any military career is CANDOR. (Courage, Competence, Commitment being the other 3.) These are drummed into every soldier, and especially into leaders.

The way Clark was playing it, his lack of Candor with Shelton and Cohen left them hanging in the wind.

Alittle off topic but not realy. Concerning nuclear protocol and the football. If a sitting President decided to launch a nuke, who or what if any could stop it. Also, if one needed to be launched and the President refused, could anyone else initiate a launch. If no one here knows, where would on go to find out?

I agree with Clark on this one, screwing Cohen is something I'd be apt to do myself. He is nutz, but I like it... (But if he bombed the Russians that'd be a little too far)

Firstly folks(thanks Xhogpilot for this article),if Evan Thomas is on the headline, bet your mortgage it's either a hit piece on the Reublican target du jour or a puff piece on the Socialist's latest hero or cause.

Secondly,Clark's firing could only have been made from the Oval office, his command was too high for even SecDef or the CoS to summarily do so.Think MacArthur in Korea. Clinton had to issue the order and Clark has alluded on some forum that Clinton was tricked into it by Cohen and Shelton. Now , c'mon folks. Bill Cohen, genius SecDef and master plotter, taking advantage of poor , innocent Bill Clinton? Clark is unworthy of any consideration and is only marginally worthy of respect for past service for it is obvious he has renounced it all.

The General: Did Clark Fail to Salute?

It’s nit-picking on my part, but generals don’t really salute do they?

I was on base and watched a two-star once. He just sort of half-heartedly waved at people. Never returned a salute that I could see. That was long ago though…

The only thing that I'm certain of is that I have yet to find someone who served under him that has respect for him.

Awww, gross. THe word orgasm and Albright in the same sentence. Can't get that image out of my brain. acchhhhh.

Never forget Madelaine Albright after the Embassy bombings in Africa. She came out all puffed up and announced to the press in reference to the terrorists "they can run, but they can't hide." Well, apparently during the Clinton administration they not only didn't have to hide, they didn't even have to run!!!

I must say Clark pisses me off more than any of the Rats in the race. His wife is as scary as he is, somebody send that woman to the dentist. He is a loser, I just don't see him being able to fool as many people as he needs to to get the nomination and the Presidency.

Did you see this tidbit about Mad Maddie?

When she first pushed to threaten force against the Serbs in Kosovo, a senior administration official exclaimed, "You people always want to bomb someone. It's some kind of orgasm." Albright silenced the men in the room by remarking, "I forget what an orgasm is."
