Sexual trauma counseling?
I have two daughters in the military, and stories they tell me about the amount of sexual activity in the military is mind boggling. Also the amount of pregnancy. My point being, how many of these gals are claiming "rape" because they are coming home to husbands/boyfriends pregnant? This is not to say rape is not happening, however I'm somewhat skeptical that it is as prevalent as this article makes it appear.

Military: Young, physically fit, aggressive men with a few young, physically fit, aggressive women sprinkled in.
Is it any surprise, with soldiers dieing all the time, and knowing that any day could be their last, that they want sex, and will take it if possible?

The women, ranging from enlisted soldiers to officers...I find it hard to believe that an officer's charges of rape would be ignored.

NOTHING excuses rape. Just as NOTHING excuses women on the battlefied. Get them off it!

Give the perps a fair trial and fast hanging. Do not mix men and women in combat. Do not put women in combat unless all the men are dead or cowards.

If true, this is the inevitable result of a military that's a slave to politcally-correct concerns.
If not true and these women just want a convenient excuse as to why they're coming home pregnant, this is also the inevitable result of a military that's a slave to politcally-correct concerns.
Solution? Go back to the pre-fembot-influenced military.

NOTHING justifies rape. Not "social engineering" . . . not the "fear of imminent death" . . . not the "she was probably asking for it" mentality. NOTHING.
Some of the responses on this thread are truly sickening!!!

Six years ago the Marine Corps extended boot camp for one week in order to teach ethics to the new recruits. My son was in the first unit to have the extra week. The military is doing what it can but it can't change 18 years of irresponsibility by parents. This doesn't excuse a rapist's behavior but we can't blame the military either.

Lemme see here....
I have a mouse problem in my house. They keep coming in to get at the cheese I keep in my cupboard.
Now I could kill the mice if I could catch them. But, wouldn't be easier all way round if I simply moved the cheese from a place where they are able to get at it to a place where they can't get at it?

There was a story a while back claiming that 1 out of 3 women in college claimed to have been raped during their 4 years there. I don't know what the numbers are for the population as a whole, but I'll bet anything that the percentage of rapes in the military is way lower than in society at large. Women in the military are safer from rape than your daughter or wife.

It is possible some of these situations are genuine cases of rape. My guess is, most of what is being called "rape" is something else with a few genuine cases interspersed.
We can't expect to put large numbers of young men in the company of large numbers of young women for extended periods of time, isolate them in remote, often boring, sometimes stressful, close-quartered, entertainment-starved locations away from most external cultural inhibitors and expect "sex" not to happen - and happen a lot. It will. And both sexes will be a party to this game.
We are seeing a part of the price we pay for a completely sexually integrated military force. There are a lot more downsides than upsides in this arrangement. A lot more. But, it is very Politially Incorrect to point out the obvious.

If the government wants to give women their rights on the battlefield, the women should be given legal immunity when they shoot their rapist attackers.

Put the women in the front-line troops.
This women in the military issue would quickly disappear through declining enlistment/re-enlistment once they understood they had to fight and die just like a man.
Except for a few percent, they're not warriors.
To: JohnGalt
"We have significant concerns about the military's response to sexual assault in the combat zone," Another reason women shouln't BE in combat zones!

One way to stop this is NOT to allow women in combat positions. It's time to face reality.
