It's not a fairy tale; it's a Pew Survey published in, of all places, The New York Times by none other than David Brooks.

A vote for anyone but George W. Bush for president in 2004 strengthens Al Qaeda.
Fair enough. Then, if the Bush Amnesty loses more votes than it gains, it strengthens Al Qaeda.

Not a macro, it's what's known as the truth. I would have thought you had heard of it.

they will be allowed to remain here and pursue citizenshipThis is new to me. Please show me where in any bill sponsored by Bush or quote from Bush that will give illegal aliens citizenship.
Bush's actual quote: "we should not give unfair rewards to illegal immigrants in the citizenship process or disadvantage those who came here lawfully"

America's security and future depend on keeping strong pro-military, pro-American Presidents in the White House. And Bush is the only one running who qualifies. That means the war would have to be more important than me having my cake....
To: Texas Federalist
Actually the fact that 90% of Republicans support Bush and his approval rating is only 50% means that all his support are coming from his base. That further proves the point that he may lose because of an unenthusiastic base. A portion of that 90% are not enthusiastic enough to take time out of their busy day to vote, and Bush loses.Ah, no.
It proves that those of you screaming you are "the base" aren't.

In the grand scheme of the electoral vote of SC going to Bush, my vote for someone else will not change it. So how is my vote going to elect a Dem?

"Your whole post could've been distilled down to, "I think George W. Bush is a proven conservative because he gave us tax cuts and he's fighting terrorists." You cannot prove him to be conservative because he's not conservative, plain and simple."
What?! Would you call signing the ban on Partial Birth Abortions to be liberal?! Would you call killing the Kyoto Global Warming nonsense liberal?! Is building our national nuclear missile defense system liberal?! Tax cuts are liberal?! Fighting terror is liberal?! Cutting regulations (e.g. logging roads, CO2 rules for electricity generators, OSHA ergonomic rules, etc.) is liberal?!

Gridlock is the best we can hope for until we get a real Republican leader. What happens when the House goes dim, and we lose control of the Senate? Oh! I see you have forgotten the Reign of LBJ.!

What arrogant, self-absorbed, elitist bull****. Elitist? RLOL! Yes, I'm typing this from my massive 1 acre estate, Pernland, in S. Louisiana, atop my throne in my 14 x 80 trailer! All hail King Pern!!
This coming from someone that obviously hasn't served in our nations military. Well, I have, and I see it going down the drain because of 'compromises' and 'elaborations' in the Constitution. I gave an oath, to defend the Constitution against ALL enemies. Not to defend the latest crook in office or a political party, but the Constitution.
All citizens vote - all are equally deserving of the right.
All citizens have the right to vote, it doesn't mean they deserve it.

You better whoa down there a minute. Because I stayed home and raised 5 good Americans, I haven't EARNED the right to vote?

"His support is broad and will include more democrats this year."
Proof that he is a Liberal Republican. Domestically liberal, while strong on defense. The democrats should love him.

That's the "truth" as you would like it to be.
Try to drag yourself up to this century; the GOP is what it is; if it doesn't fit you, vote another party.

Do you have the nerve to answer?Yep
How about you: what's your world going to look like with the Democrats back in control?
When did I ever say I was going to vote a straight third party ticket? My GOP congressman voted against CFR and I am damn sure going to vote for HIM.
Besides, Bush is going to pick up far more votes from the center-left than he's going to lose from that tiny minority of wingnuts that you think we are, so what's the problem?
