Bad News Bears is a great movie, IMHO one of the best sports movies ever. But a movie with a guy feeding kids beer isn't what I would refer to as a great kids movie. To me a great kids movie has to be one that parents can show their kids without language and situation concerns. If the movie had been made after PG-13 got put in it would have gotten a PG-13 easy, that makes it not a good kids movie for 8-12 pretty much by defninition.

Remember the Titans is great for kids, especially boys.

My son really enjoys this movie. It helps that I'm a DC native and my son spent a few years in the DC area, so it puts the story in a familar place.

I thought it was pretty good, but have only watched it once. Like I said, I'm not a football fan. My son has watched it quite a few times, so there must be something there. For some reason, the football doesn't interfere as much w/Rudy for me, which I've watched countless times.

When I was a little girl, my Daddy used to sing "Hi Lili, Hi Lo" to me every night...

So when I got married, that is the song to which we had our father/daughter dance. It was a surprise for him from me.

PS: I'd put "Lili" on my list, too...and my kids LOVE "The Adventures of Milo and Otis," wonderfully narrated by the late Dudley Moore. Oh! And "Black Beauty," too...that's a great movie for kids.

My kids really liked Buddy, with Renea Russo, and John Coltrane. Based on a true story about a gorrila. Stuart Little was a cute kids movie too! Beautician and the Beast, was also funny, and my kids loved Willow

If you havent't seen "Never Cry Wolf", add that to your list. I'd put it any top ten list, regardless of age. It really belongs on the biggest screen you can manage, with the best sound system. I believe it won an Oscar for sound. The opening 15 minutes stand up to anything in Raiders of the Lost Arc. Then the plot slows down and lets the Northwest Canadian scenery tell the story.

I put it on our rental queue. It even stars Charlie Martin Smith, and I met him in high school when he made a Ron Howard movie at my school. (Actually, he's pretty much a jerk. Ron Howard was nice.)

Although my two children are teenagers now, I used to watch movies (over and over) with them when they were little. I could recite much of The Little Mermaid. They'd always laugh at me because no matter how many times I'd see it, I'd always cry at the end. One time I went into my son's room just as he finished watching The Fox and the Hound. He was crying! I knew right then I couldn't handle it, so I've never watched it.

Oh yeah, I remember that too! And the shootout scene is awesome. Seen it recently? Can you believe it was from, what, 1957? It's like after that, Hollywood hardly did a really good sci fi movie until Star Wars.

Wonderful movie.
