The Supreme Court ruled Wednesday that the federal Environmental Protection Agency can override state officials and order some anti-pollution measures that may be more costly.

The 5-4 decision, a victory for environmentalists, found the EPA did not go too far when it overruled a decision by Alaska regulators, who wanted to let the operators of a zinc and lead mine use cheaper anti-pollution technology for power generation.

I personally think she is trying to "atone" for her vote in Bush v. Gore with the liberal media

Yes. That is a question I once posed to Congressman Billybob, but he never really answered. (He has to argue in front of these people sometimes and I'm sure he has to be a little measured in what he says here.) But I agree with your theory about the Bush/Gore vote. I maintain, however, that she has "evolved" into a scumbag at least in part due to mental deterioration.

Regardless, O'Connor is now extremely dangerous to traditional America and the Constitution. I hope she starts drooling and soiling herself on the bench, or at least peeing herself as she walks down the hall, so maybe somebody can take her aside, talk to her family, and convince them that it's time for her to hang up the robes.

Regards,
LH

Of course, you are completely wrong about why the polluters are better under control in the US (big shock.) They are under control precisely because of the efforts of government (mainly federal.)

Left on their own they would pollute to their hearts' content and leave the peons to shoulder the cost of cleaning up their messes. That is why the EPA was started to begin with no matter what your crackpot revisionists might claim.

While I never say anything stupid knowing that my comments irritate a Loon is always gratifying.

EPA has the power to overrule state decisions in such matters as this. Where did you get the idea that it doesn't?

While I never say anything stupid ...

You never say anything stupid? LOL. Our Lord would beg to differ.

You've fulfilled my prediction that you would come back saying something twice and stupid and irritating, by claiming you never say anything stupid.

Yes, you're smart. You Ginsburg, the lefties, watermelons, Al Gore and DUers who equate monsterous bureaucracies with functional capitalism. All a bunch of evolved genius capitalists.

Unlike Renquist, Scalia and everyone on this thread who are treating you like a blockhead. They're all a bunch of dumb socialists.

No, I don't say stupid things. Maybe incorrect or wrong things but certainly nothing so stupid as the statements you come up with. Such as that I "equate monstrous bureaucracies with functional capitalism." How does ANYTHING I have said lead to that hammerheaded conclusion?

D00d, you started out here implying that your ridiculous position is the capitalist way. Now you're trying to convince us that you're the only human in history besides Christ that doesn't say stupid things.

Seriously some introspection is due here. At least your "first" isn't as bad as this other jackass today who claims to be a prophet. He wants to be taken seriously also.

You know what, have the last word. I'm lucky enough to be spending the day with a gorgeous view of Miami Bay, it's silly for me to be frustrated.

Pointing out that environmental protection is incompatible with Communism (which you falsely accused me of supporting)
is NOT claiming that it is the "capitalist way."

I would hate to think that I frustrate you. Go look at your miserable bay while I indulge in the delights of a 10 degree Chicago day. Poor guy, wouldn't you like to trade places? Since I am so kind-hearted I would do that for you.
