ChannelNews Asia Headline: "Defiant Bush says US needs no permission for war, defends Iraq invasion"
ABC News Online Australia: Lead Paragraph: "A defiant US President George W Bush has defended his decision to invade Iraq last year, insisting it made the United States safer and vowing never to seek permission to wage war in self-defence.
Reuters: Lead Paragraph: "U.S. President George W. Bush on Tuesday said Iraq would still be pursuing unconventional weapons if America had not acted, and the United States needed no international permission to protect its security. In his election-year State of the Union address to Congress, Bush lashed back at critics of the U.S.-led invasion and reiterated his determination not to "seek a permission slip" from other countries before acting in the interest of U.S. security."

I'm sure that permission slip line did not do well in the focus groups at the Sorbonne.

That permission slip line was a torpedo aimed right at Nikita Dean and it scored! We'll see if it sinks the listing S.S Dean campaign.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it's about time he actually says the "F" word. The people are ready for the truth!

Damn it's got to tick off the world's elites that America is a DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC and not a UN Colony!

I agree, except that I think it was aimed at the Dems in general. In fact, it was also aimed at the world in general, and I thought it was a great line!

The first third of the SOTU was aimed directly at the Dems weakness on this issue.
Bush scored hit after hit after hit.

I don't think I've ever seen a SOTU address where the President ridiculed his opponents positions. It was a very effective tactic.

It was his best line of the evening. I am pleased that the outraged foreign press recognized quality when they heard it.

The F-r-a-... word.
Kerry is unable to say it either, though he often means it.

All of the allies with forces in Iraq must be glad to hear that the leader of their coalition is not going wobbly. Let the socialists quiver.

Interesting that Reuters said that Bush "reiterated" his point about the permission slip. I don't recall him saying that line before tonight.

Only John F**ck*n Kerry gets to say the F word. That's because he was in Vietnam (Seriously! I swear it's true . . . I'm not pulling your leg).
Paid his dues, you know.

The jump up and shout line of the SOTU was:
The terrorists and their supporters declared war on the United States - and war is what they got.
