Kerry has always frigtened me. Edwards is an empty suit but is in training for the big job. Sort of a clinton without as much Saavy. Kerry will run strong. I agree with you about Edwards.
But I think Kerry will be a lot weaker candidate than many predict.
Let's remember that he voted for the Iraq war and then made up some lame excuse for not supporting how Bush went about it.
This kind of hairsplitting opposition makes him look like Bush-lite. I don't believe he can provide a strong opposition to Bush when it comes to the divide over Iraq.
And I think when national security becomes the defining issue, Bushs beat Kerry and everybody else big time.
This is Bush's strongest point.
Besides, I think Kerry is a very weak debater, who says things that make no sense and don't inspire confidence. That is why he was so low in the polls until recently. He only made big tonight because Dean imploded within the past two weeks.

When I look at Kerry, I think of John Heinz' money.

Absolutely right! Kerry won because Dean couldn't keep his mouth shut. He won because he came off as more electable. His win had nothing to do with issues or priciples. He embodies the problem with the DNC. This is why they cannot win in 2004.

The biggest loser tonight is Clark.
The big momentum from Kerry is going to wipe Clark out!
Clark can no longer run as the only dems with military experience, I bet Kerry will wipe Clark out in due time.
I'd love to have the Deaniacs going crazy and bolt to run as a third party. But I am not counting on it.
It looks like a Bush/Kerry match in 04.
Kerry could be a toughie on the resume' alone, Kerry's big disadvantage is he never smiles and likes to talk down to people.
The issue is who will be Kerry's veep?
A midwestern govn - IA's govn??
A hispanic - Richardson from NM?
A "Republican" - McCain??
A senator from the South (Edwards?), from the central (Hart?)
very interesting race ahead..
too bad mad-dog Howie implode so fast.

I think Kerry is a very weak debater Not in a partisan context. If you had watched the Kerry-Weld debates for the Senate, you would know that Kerry is a very strong debater indeed. The issue is whether Kerry can sell class warfare light and his war record to cut into the Bush zones. At this juncture, Kerry is clearly Bush's strongest opponent. I just don't yet believe in Edwards as having the necessary elements.
