A restless holiday: Sorry, Dr. King

Today, Martin Luther King Day and Southern hero Robert E. Lee's birthday coincide. The First National Confederate Flag will fly over the Lee County Courthouse in Sanford, N.C., as it does on the general's birthday.

The coincidence happened once before in the last 17 years. The county's only black commissioner, Robert Reives, is OK with it and said he would celebrate Dr. King's life.

Blacks only number 0.5 percent of the population in Vermont, but we figure he could have found one if he looked.

Why would anybody expect that he would? Does he have 200 cabinet posts available? That's what you'd need in order to provide proportional representation for 1/2 of 1 percent of the population.

How many whites does Sharpton have on his staff?

One thing Im pretty sure of... Dr King most likely wanted no part of having a national holiday named after him...
