Rush's PERFECT comments Re: Donovan McNabb
me

Posted on 01/19/2004 9:26:26 AM PST by Pukin Dog

For those who missed it, Limbaugh performed the most perfect comments on Donovan McNabb this morning by not even mentioning his name.

Instead he contrasted the way that Payton Manning came out and took responsibility for his performance against the way that the media instantly set out to blame the Eagles' wide recievers for what happened to them.

It was the best revenge, because by not mentioning McNabb, no one in the media can say that Rush attacked McNabb, but to all us football fans, what Rush DIDNT say, was LOUD AND CLEAR. Thanks Rush!

Putting the Eagle's Offense aside for a moment, why didn't the Powerhouse Eagle Defense shut down the running game of the Carolina Panthers?????

That is probable Rush's fault also!

the Powerhouse Eagle Defense

A thing of the past; they were ordinary this year (like McNabb).

McNair is TOO successful. The myth of a racist America, which so many politicians, academics, and media elite have built their careers upon, must be perpetuated at all cost. If it ever leaked out that there are successful blacks out there, who did it on their own, without gov't assistance (or hyped press accounts) it's all over!

He is never, ever going to be a football announcer on any network at any time.

UH... He already has been!

The one thing you can't do when you're standing on the sidelines while your team is struggling to win is throw interceptions.

And all he had was separated rib cartilage---the wimp. I know you and I have wrestled bears after separating our rib cartilage.

And Rush never SAID it had anything to do with his race. What Rush said that the "overrating" part had to do with the liberal writers' desire to have a black QB do well. To me, that is indisputable. They are desperate to have a black head coach take a team to a Super Bowl; to have a black owner; and to have exceptional black QBs to make the league appear "progressive."

Do you blame all four interceptions on the receivers? Maybe 2 could be, definitely 1.

10/22 100 YDS 0 TD 3 INT

Those numbers - receivers or not - show a mediocre QB. Lets not even bring his QB Rating for the year into the mix.

"And all he had was separated rib cartilage---the wimp."

I'm sure McNabb is a great QB compared to me and you. But I'm comparing him to other perennial all-pro, MVP candidate, future Hall of Fame NFL QBs, as the media would have me do.

I think it's great that he didn't throw any interceptions in the 4th quarter. It was a definite improvement over the rest of the game.

The problem with your solution is that the NFLPA would complain that again this limits movement, since no team will take that kind of hit.

I agree, the league must find some solution, though, because it's an insult to have teams (year after year) that are 9-7 or 4-12 one year go to the Super Bowl the next. It was a shame that the Ravens had to blow up one of the best NFL defenses ever due to free agency---and I'm no Ravens fan.

Fair enough---which of them has played with separated rib cartilage?

I blame the receivers for 2 INTs plus 6 other dropped passes. If the receivers get the job done it's:
18/22 140ish YDS (guessing, trying to guess low) 0 TD 1 INT

Much better numbers. Unless Philly gets some legit receivers we'll never really know how good McNabb is, it's not possible to be more than 1 grade level better than your receivers and Philly's receivers are D- on a good day.

You think Peyton Manning is a mediocre QB?

Playing with the words. Proper analysis of QBs and INT will show it's only sometimes to usually their fault.

At the time of Rush's comment, everyone was questioning McNabb's ability as QB. You can't be a white conservative and be openly critical of non-whites anymore: your motives will instantly be questioned. For the same reason that only blacks can use the 'n' word when addressing other blacks. To me affirmitive action is nothing more than legalized reverse-racism.

Anyone beside me remember Jefferson Street Joe, who was going to be the greatest QB ever?

Or the fact that Joe Willie and Snake Stabler were running QBs at Bama?

Or the great running QB James Street never played pro ball.

Should mobile athletic QBs become the norm, defenses will change to stop them.

Maybe so - maybe the WRs are holding Mcnabb back.

He still has not shown any "Greatness", maybe potential, but no greatness. He is overrated and over-hyped.
