Rush's PERFECT comments Re: Donovan McNabb
me
Posted on 01/19/2004 9:26:26 AM PST by Pukin Dog
For those who missed it, Limbaugh performed the most perfect comments on Donovan McNabb this morning by not even mentioning his name.
Instead he contrasted the way that Payton Manning came out and took responsibility for his performance against the way that the media instantly set out to blame the Eagles' wide recievers for what happened to them.
It was the best revenge, because by not mentioning McNabb, no one in the media can say that Rush attacked McNabb, but to all us football fans, what Rush DIDNT say, was LOUD AND CLEAR. Thanks Rush!

Yeah, and the play where McNabb was supposed to have gotten hurt, he sure as h#ll didn't take much of a shot. The defensive guy hardly touched him.
And McNabb ends up with a broken rib??? Pullleezzzeee... Excuses, excuses...face it McNabb stunk with or without an "injury"...

The quarterback was not downed, the whistle had not blown yet, you play until the whistle is blown in the NFL.

I also like his SI Jinx commentary on the Eagle's quarterback.

Rush should hang it up. He is never, ever going to be a football announcer on any network at any time. Thomas Edison should've gave up on the light bulb. Yeah, he finally got it right, but jeez, look at all the failures along the way...

Did he mention the Pats at all? Following their 2001 Season he inferred they didn't as much win the SB as much as St Louis lost. I'm just curious how he talks about N.E. now.

the most obvious answer is that one team showed up to play and the other didn't I was only half watching and what stood out were the drops, interceptions, and the Eagles inability to tackle. Seems to fit that decription.

I forgot. I only thought I saw him on the ground.

I don'think it was cheap shot. From what I saw MsNabb got pushed, fell back and then was downed.

"Rush hates McNabb for some reason."
Could you provide any proof for this assertion? If you are going to make stupid comments about another person's "hate", you need to explain yourself.

Rush hates McNabb for some reason. That is just nuts. Rush has no feelings for McNabb one way or the other. Rush's was then, as he is now, attacking THE MEDIA.

Actually it's Rush's fault Philly lost. His racist comments put so much pressure on Mcnabb that there was no way he could live up to the pressure. There should be a govt. program to help out with these sort of problems.

You do realize that the reason they didn't call it a late hit was because McNabb wasn't down right?
He was fair game.

I don'think it was cheap shot. From what I saw MsNabb got pushed, fell back and then was downed.if he got pushed, the minute his butt hits the ground, he's down. the shot was a late hit and a cheap shot, but regardless of a penalty, or even if it didn't happen, the game would have ended similarly.

The panthers won game with a cheap shot on a downed quarterback. There is not much glory in that.
Please! They did nothing more than anyone else has done during the year. Carolina showed up and played good, old fashioned, smash mouth football and won. McNabb could have cowboyed up and returned but was tired of getting his butt handed to him. He sat out instead.
BTW, I saw the hit in question and I do believe the defender should have been penalized. But that does not excuse McNabb's performance prior.

He was down by contact, the officials just didn't realize it. But yes, if they don't blow the whistle, he's not down.
To: Bikers4Bush
You do realize that the reason they didn't call it a late hit was because McNabb wasn't down right? he WAS down, but even if he wasn't, the league specifically prohibits throwing your entire weight upon a defenseless quarterback. that having been said, it's not the reason the panthers won.

You are right!
Rush should have played yesterday! Had Rush been in the game, he would have caught everything McNabb threw at him, no matter how low, high or off target the pass was!
Damn you, Limbaugh!!!

He wasn't down by contact, his own player was pushed into him and he then fell, he could have gotten up and made a play. He was fair game.
