Did he mention the Pats at all? Following their 2001 Season he inferred they didn't as much win the SB as much as St Louis lost. I'm just curious how he talks about N.E. now.

Rush picked the Patriots before the season opened to be back in the Super Bowl.
I have thought all along that his take on McNabb was born of Kordell Stewart's breaking Rush's heart (he is a Steelers fan) by doing precisely what McNabb has done--being an undisciplined athlete rather than playing within the system. That lack of restraint cost the Steelers, and it cost the Eagles, too. There was never anything personal in Rush's remarks on ESPN.

I think back then Rush was upset that the patriots had beat his beloved steelers!

As for Rush and the Patriots . . . what I'm sure no one in the media or on ESPN will be talking about anytime soon was the exchange Rush had with the "seasoned pros" on ESPN on the morning of the week 1 games re the Patriots.
The Pats cut their "emotional leader" (the safety who's name I don't remember) right before the season started. Rush said it was best for the team, they'd be fine. Tom Jackson and Michael Irvin went off on Rush saying he didn't understand football or the intangible elements . . . and neither did the Pats front office (or Belicheck I guess). Somehow, I don't think we'll be seeing any of that discussion being rebroadcast on ESPN or anywhere else anytime soon.
