Great article. Several points here. All the sources are to blame and who they blame are to blame! This is less about Clinton (who is to blame) than the staggering bureaucracy at the DoD. Every decision maker has a lawyer whispering in their ear, and it hasn't changed today. Now that we are at war, the gloves are off so to speak, but those 9 points made in the article are still valid. Who is to blame here? Individuals like General Pete Schoomaker, Downing, Clarke all blame the "brass" of the system. They were the system, and culpable of blame. The lawyers too are to blame. The real question is what has changed? Not much, except a war to justify SOF use.

This is a GREAT article. Issues we are still facing today with getting our military brass and bureaucracies to change.
