But if they actually NAME a Democratic candidate in the question, 72% of the voters surveyed reflexively vomit on the pollster's shoes, which tends to skew the results somewhat.

The interesting thing is that he beats all the democratic candidates CONVINCGLY!! So they are still waiting for that unamed candidate to show up.

Well I hope all of the detractors are happy with this news. Will be lovely having some crackpot like Dean or Kerry in the Oval Office. I am sure the troops will welcome this news too. (not)

Bingo, when you name names the whole story changes.
Most folks do not trust these "candidates".
They trust the President.

The "unnamed Democrat" always wins these polls.
When a name is attached to the Democrat, Bush wins by a minimum of 18 points.

What fiction.
I hope you are right, but with all of the 24/7 attacks about his lies, character, and now he is even responsible for fat people, who knows? :-)

Have to look a bit more into this poll. It is polling adults, not even likely voters. Plus its a nationwide poll. State wide polls show Bush convincingly beating ALL Democratic candidates in most if not all of the Red states and even in a lot of the Blue states. Plus, if you look into this poll a bit more, 55% of the people polled think Bush is going to win relection.

it is like watching a football tan score a touchdown on every play. But when you look closely, you see that the other team isn't on the field yet.
This is so silly.

All of the Demo's I have talked too say they are Undecided at this point, but they're Mantra is anyone but Bush.

Ah yes, more poll question manipulation by the NYT.

And he has not even started to campaign yet and this a year after the opposition has thrown everything including the kitchen sink (nazism) at him... I dont think we went this far in 1996 with Clinton.
To: cmsgop
Its the undecideds that is going to win this election and also in the states that Bush won last time, he looks a lot stronger and in the blue states where he lost, he is leading all the Rats contenders very strongly. Unless something major happens, I dont see how any one them can overcome a 15-20 point difference.
