Couldn't find this posted here yet. I got an email from the publisher of a well known Civil War magazine who related that this morning it was discovered that the statues of Robert E. Lee and Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson in Richmond, Virginia had been vandalized last night.
The damage was discovered this morning as ceremonies were being prepared for Lee-Jackson Day.

No, Andrew was "Old Hickory". Thomas Jonathan Jackson was "Stonewall." He earned the nickname at First Manassas (that's Bull Run to Yankees).

"Happy birthday, MLK" in spray painted grafitti -- how pathetically ironic.

Old Hickory was the first gub'nor of Florida. There are stories he and Jake Summerlin would go hunting along the 'scamby river.

General Lee's birthday is January 19th. Virginia even closed state offices on the 16th. Don't know much about it as I don't think NC has that day. Although we do have our Confederate Memorial Day on May 10thWe honour our own. Deo vindice!

I'm honestly surprised that any of the statues on Monument Avenue are allowed to still be standing. It may only be a matter of time before we see the city embroiled in some legal battle to have them razed, since no one seems to care about reality and truth. The fascists on the political left use the same tactics as their predecessors did in Russia and Germany, by erasing the truth from history and replacing it with the state-sanctioned version. Well, as it says on our flag, sic semper tyrannus.
