Conservative groups break with Republican leadership

National leaders of six conservative organizations yesterday broke with the Republican majorities in the House and Senate, accusing them of spending like "drunken sailors," and had some strong words for President Bush as well...

Senator James Inhofe and Senator Don Nickles are two of the most conservative members of the Senate along with Senator Jeff Sessions of AL. President Bush has contact with these Senators and more conservative Republicans in Congress. If anyone dares call James Inhofe anything but conservative, then I don't have the foggiest idea what it means to be a conservative. I never said they weren't conservative. I know there are some conservative members of the GOP, but there are also many liberal members of the GOP.

WASHINGTON--U.S. Sen. James M. Inhofe (R-Okla.) today voted in favor of the Medicare and Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003 (H.R. 1) that passed the Senate 54-44.

That appears to be their game plan. And it's another reason I'm pushing so hard to continue building on the Republican majority. We cannot afford to allow the Democrats to regain power.

The President will use his las 4 years in office implementing a conservative Supreme Court, straightening out the "illegals" problem, strengthening the economy, etc....

He has done most everything he said he would do, and he knows of all people, what it means to balance the budget and cut spending. He will also streamline government to work better and be less intrusive.

We need to be working to gain seats in Congress. This is where Bush is perceived as Liberal because he's been having to compromise so much. Trust me, his first 2 years were years of compromise.

Bush rescinded Clinton's signature on the world court and the Senate did not ratify.

We have not pulled out of Iraq.

Bush has nominated conservative judges,the Senate won't allow a vote on some of them.

Bush doesn't have control of the judges' decisions.We have a separation of powers

The economy is recovering.

The spending is out of control

I hope your right, sometimes it's just hard to have faith in someone who has done so many things that are a slap in the face to conservative principles and make "limited government" seem like a lost dream.

The only difference between the Republicans and the Democrats is that the Democrats want the US ruled by a combination of national and international despots while the Republicans will settle for tyranny by just national despots. The end result is the same - the destruction of our freedom.

You'll see a difference.....when the terrorists wipe out your family. Oh wait, I know, you'll take care of them. Just don't let them go out to malls, go to work, or go to schools, and maybe you'd better pray that your house isn't under the flight path of any jet liners, and that you're far enough away from any city that you won't be exposed to bio or chemical weapons. Other than that, sure, there's no difference.

The article states many facts. If we all spent money like President Bush is doing, we'd all be pushing shopping carts down main street looking for aluminum cans..

You all saw what happened to Gray Davis as he attempted to drive our state into a financial ditch. He went down in total disgrace, as he hung from a California made, political rope.

It's hard to push any Conservative agenda, when the Senate is largely split down the middle. I believe that if Republicans can gain seats in the Senate, Bush can get his Conservative judges nominated, and Bush won't have to compromise just to keep those like Daschle, Reid, Schumer, Clinton, and Byrd happy.

not for nothing here but if you cannot not see the gutless sellout of America with Bush's amnesty for 12 million illegals and 8 million more of family then you have to have your eyes closed. He has lost any respect that I had for him. He and the Republican Party have become a sworn enemy of mine right at the same level as the RATS.

What is more important? The Republican Party or America?

I hold true to our nations first President when he warned against party loyalty, I will always support the conservative candidates regardless of which party they are with. We have two very liberal Senators here in Florida, I am looking forward to helping replace them with a good conservative in 2004, and maybe again in 2006.

Well CFR is something he did. He signed it into law when he could have vetoed it.

That means he doesn't want me to speak out against him, BTW what the do you think of that smaller education department, or how about closing of the border after 9-11.

I mean what more can he do for us conservatives.

I don't know that he ever was..... He was elected to Congress as a Republican, served a few terms [3 I think] left Congress and ran for the Presidency as a Libertarian Party candidate and lost. Sat out a term or two then ran again under the Republican banner for Congress and was elected....
