Since CP members are far more likely to be persuaded to support Bush than Democrat Party members, and since FR is populated with otherwise extremely intelligent people, I just do not get why FReepers who support Bush think it is a good idea to bash conservatives who are disgruntled. That drives them further away and is most certainly NOT persuasive.

I do not get it. Perhaps it just makes everyone feel better about themselves, but it causes harm to the re-election campaign of GWBush. It too many conservatives stay home there will be many "charming" FReepers who can pat themselves on the back for it. You will never help unify conservatives by denying their complaints and insulting them. The charge that Bush is spending too much has been made far and wide by conservatives everywhere. Better to be understanding while trying a little friendly, logical persuasion about why they shouldn't give up on Bush.

I personally find the degree of emotional, almost irrational, devotion to Bush no matter what that I see from time to time, SCARY! Blind loyalty is never a good thing.

I am sure you did not mean most growth in spending, because that is untrue.

Your link merely lampoons the usual leftist sludge from the cesspool of Marxist thinking.

You sound more like them every time I read your (pardon my lack for the appropriate word) posts.

Uh Ricardo, Bush has said he would support a Constitutional amendment to protect the institution of marriage.

Interesting that you left that out. Oh BTW, O'Connor was appointed by Reagan.

I am not lost, therefore, i am not a follower.

That must make you a leader, can you substantiate this profound title you have bestowed upon yourself?

With respect to you, that would be a very wrong move returning the money. Jim put it very clearly.

You are a protectionist and not a free trader and thats fine, but if Bush kept those tarrifs up much longer it would have seriously harmed the industry. Who do you think wants to buy U.S. steel outside of the U.S.?

You started by referring to me as a "poor, poor lost soul" b/c I do not blindly support anyone who calls himself conservative. Just thought I would clarify for you.

Since CP members are far more likely to be persuaded to support Bush than Democrat Party members,

Actually no, if they were persuded they would stay with the Pubbies and fight for and within one of the major two parties in the country instead of going into the wilderness, called political perfection.

I personally find the degree of emotional, almost irrational, devotion to Bush no matter what that I see from time to time, SCARY! Blind loyalty is never a good thing

Neither is giving succor to your political adversaries.

Only a few conservatives see the GOP as a whole of being corrupt.

I don't know any who consider the whole corrupt, just the controlling structure.

There will be a few of the like in all ideologies. But don't condemn the furure of all conservatives because you label them all as corrupt.

Conservative minded people are not corrupt and they are the hope of the future. There is no necessity, however, for such people to remain tied to any establishment political entity which no longer represents their ideals.

Agree. The "two party system" isn't working anymore. The Republican party has melded into the Democrat party.

Well I have decided to vote Libertarian this fall. I know the dems are probably going to win. Perhaps is is time for the shroud of evil to descend upon the country once again.

The Democrats will slowly strip us of our rights and then perhaps Americans will awaken and take steps to save the country.

I guess you're one of those who believe Bush can do anything because we can't possibly vote for anyone else.
