MoveOn Flees Scarborough Country
January 16, 2004 | Self

The left revealed its true nature once again Wednesday night on MSNBC's 'Scarborough Country' when a spokeswoman from MoveOn slunk cowardly off the show before her segment was to air.

The show's host had invited the MoveOn representative to the program to discuss the organization's Monday night event that unveiled the winner of its ‘Bush in 30 seconds’ contest.

As everyone by now knows, the January 12 event degenerated into an orgy of hate as one entertainer after another took the stage to curse, howl and rant at the President.

Yet when the MSNBC political talk show was kind enough to give MoveOn a platform from which to present the organization's views of the event- MoveOn moved out in a hurry.

The spokesperson from MoveOn, who fled the set during a commercial, cited fears of 'being ambushed' by the show's host. What had the host done to her? Nothing except air some video footage of this past Monday’s event in order to set up her segment of the show. Sometimes, I guess the truth is just too ugly to defend.

Isn't it amazing the difference a couple of days make?

On Monday night, this same woman's organization sponsored what could only be described as a frenzied ‘beat-down in effigy’ of the President. But come Wednesday evening, lacking the comfort of a lynch mob to back her up, this minion of George Soros beat a quick and silent retreat without saying a word.

One would think that for the sake of ‘the cause’ she'd at least wait long enough to sling a few barbs at Dubya before tucking tail and running. This inexplicable exit during the Scarborough appearance scored no points for them at all.

It says something, I believe, about the character of the MoveOn organization which also demonstrated an ability to backpedal furiously last week when it was revealed that two entries to its ad contest likened our President to Adolf Hitler.

Rather than stand by its guns to decide the contest through the 'democratic process' as it had originally planned to do, MoveOn.org sold out in favor of Realpolitik and yanked the ads from its site, denouncing them as tasteless.

It seems we are beginning to discern something of a pattern in the organization's behavior.

When it was reported in December that a Swedish political website- Democracy Aid '04- was running a campaign to donate funds to MoveOn.org in order to help remove President Bush from office, MoveOn quickly backpedaled from that policy as well.

The Swedish site posts on its front page the following message:

"As of December 12, Move On no longer accepts contributions from non US citizens/permanent resident aliens..."

A Canadian website- Canada for Clark- begrudgingly removed a link to MoveOn.org when it was revealed by the Drudge Report that the site had been directing Canadian money donors to MoveOn.

The website states: “The link to MoveOn.org has of course been removed, as we have just become aware of the organization's new rules concerning foreign donations”.

MoveOn’s mission is to remove George Bush from the White House but to this point they are hurting the Democrats worse than they are the President.

I imagine right now, Howard Dean (who, incidently, won MoveOn’s mock ‘primary’ last summer) has got to be scratching his head and thinking ‘With friends like these, who needs enemies?”

This liberal internet attack dog hasn’t bitten for the dems. It has shown only an ability to pee on the rug in front of the dinner guests.

Indeed, MoveOn is becoming something of a pariah with even CBS not wanting to touch their contest winning advertisement for all Soros' megabucks. But for MoveOn's hapless stumblings they might have aired their commercial on the network during the Super Bowl and had it seen by many millions.

As it is, they not only fumbled the snap for the Democrats but look set to be soon carried off the field on a stretcher.

MoveOn is, quite obviously, out of its league but I'm not sure they realize this fact. They tout themselves as a force to be reckoned with but practical experience teaches that it is hard to reckon with a spineless wretch who will not stand and defend his convictions.

Unfortunately, this will not be the last we hear of MoveOn or the craven lot that took the stage Monday night. Before November we will witness more of their antics. They've got a big time sugar daddy signing the paychecks after all and Al Gore seems very fond of them too.

But the hate festival of Monday night followed by MoveOn running in fear from Scarborough's show later in the week leaves no doubt what type of political animal MoveOn is, for there is another creature in nature who acts in a similar manner: the hyena.

A skulking, sneering coward of a predator, it runs from confrontation when alone and displays courage only in a pack.

The more these people talk the more ridiculous they sound. Three of them appeared on Hannity's show and couldn't even acknowledge that Saddam was an evil man. In their world view, there is no such thing as evil, and those who ascribe to good and evil only see things simplistically in black and white. Interestingly, their rhetoric against Bush is the most simplistic, black and white jingoisms I've ever heard. While they couldn't see evil in Saddam Hussein, they most certainly could in GW Bush. These poor kids can't even see their own hypocrisy within the few words they speak.

They may grow up someday when daddy is done footing the bill for the damn plane rides.

The thing is, George Soros can foot the bill for heck of a lot of plane rides.

What kills me about he "Bush In 30 Seconds" contest is that the winning ad is 60 seconds long.

Actually, I wonder if this poor little girl was *forced* to go on his show. Whenever they have these 20 year old lefty college types, they seem to not know why they are on the tube.

I don't know. The thing is, the transcript didn't list her name- I guess she didn't qualify as a guest if she never opened her mouth and ran off.

I'm thinking it might have been Joan Blades who is pretty important in the organization.

She is cited on another thread as being nervous to speak before a crowd of people:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1059289/posts

"Only one of the founders, Joan Blades, made the trip to Manhattan from the organization's headquarters in California's Silicon Valley. Blades and her husband, Wes Boyd, were probably best known for their flying-toaster screensavers before starting MoveOn.org.

Blades addressed the crowd briefly before Gore did, and she later confessed she was a little nervous speaking in front of the large audience. But after the theatre cleared out, she stuck around to speak with two remaining journalists. Meanwhile, the other VIPs headed to a "meet-and-greet" backstage."

I don't know for sure, that's why I didn't include the name in the article.

I think that many from Move on.org were busy writing nasty emails to those of us that don't like Ho Cho Mien's statements the other night. I personally responded to everyone that nasty grammed me and was promptly told that I slept with my mother and other witty retorts. I must admit the left always says that conservatives don't make good comedians, I have to agree because we would never come up with the debauchery that they so easily throw around.

In case you were wondering, probably not, I never mentioned her race, I just stated that I believe like her that we should have unlimited abortions so that her mother could abort her. Not very funny I know and I am ashamed of myself and am looking for absolution.

EXCELLENT writeup, Prodigal Son.

Can't MoveOn simply move on about the legitimate Florida loss their guy suffered? Algore couldn't even win his own state.
