Now at the very real risk of sounding like a two faced hypocrite..
There are may points in the above post that I most heartily agree with.

I think we differ in this..
When you see or hear "Muslim" you see a belief system that threatens the very roots of European / Christian civilization... Fair enough.
I see people ( many of whom I know and have spent many long days in close contact with) stuggling to adapt a 12th Century world view and code of conduct to the 21st Century. Many are doing just that.... and many are not.
What we sometime forget is that as Christians, we have been guilty of some of the same acts of intolerance and hatred as the faithful of Islam.
We've "grown out" of most of that, but we need to reflect on it from time to time lest we fall back into that pit.
I would hope that this shed a little light on the way I see things. I don't "pick and choose" from the "buffet" of Christianity, I belive in the whole idea, but I also belive that mutual respect and communication will go alot farther than naked hostility.
I do also hold dear to the belief that good will and big guns will get you more than just good will.
I also never forget that fratricide is a cultural sport among the Arabs, has been long before Islam, and despite Islam's teachings of "brotherhood" they still practice it.

A: If a community is oppressed and denied its basic human rights, it is permissible for them to fight against the oppressors and free themselves from such oppression. It is permissible for them to engage in Jihaad - risking their lives in the hope of saving themselves from oppression. The people of Palestine are the most oppressed people and live in constant fear by the rule of the Jewish oppressors. Their extreme frustration and hardships have led them to behave likewise - to resort to suicide bombings. Assuming the suicide bombing is evil but this evil is opposed by a greater evil for which there is no adequate substitute, therefore, their act will also be justified as lesser of the two evils in terms of the Shari'ah.

Very recently I have been talking to come ‘jihadis’, who say if Islam brings me peace, I have chosen the wrong religion, they tell me the blood of every kafir [non-muslim] is halal, and that it is permissible to kill any non muslim whether they are oppressing you or not. For example, they say it would be permissible to go to somewhere like Bolivia, and kill all the local inhabitants for the sin of not being non-muslim. I have also been told that rape during jihad is permissible. Please save my imaan. They also tell me if I feel sorry for any kafir, I am a munafiq, and I am one of them. Please save my imaan. I work with several Americans, how should my relationship be with them? According to these guys, I should kill them, just for the sin of holding an American passport. The statement, 'promoted killing of non-Muslims' is vague and sweeping and is very much open to misinterpretation. Yes, Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) promoted the killing of these non-Muslims who are actively engaged in destroying Islam and the Muslims. This is the command of Allah Ta'ala Himself in the Qur'aan. This type of killing is not simply permissible, but commendable and worthy of reward. This does not mean that Islam teaches to kill all non-Muslims.

If, for example, a Muslim intentionally kills a non-Muslim citizen of the Islamic state, then in retribution the Muslim's life will be taken. This indicates that even the life of a non-Muslim is sanctified, if he does not oppose Islam and the Muslims.

What about a simulated Christian-missionary cooking (onions, potatos, carrots, garlic etc.) for Kwanzaa or something like that? They could get some old Tarzan movies or a copy of "Jewel of the Nile" for instruction...

What about some sort of an Aztec ritual killing and sacraficial barbeque? They could tie up one of the kids, and then pretend to cut his heart out and then pour barbeque sauce on him and pretend to eat him....
