Christians Fight California's Muslim Indoctrination of Schoolchildren

WASHINGTON – NewsMax.com has learned that a public interest law firm plans to file an appeal “probably within the next 20 days” to overturn a federal judge’s decision upholding as constitutional the Islamic indoctrination of children in California's government schools.

Such schoolroom activities as praying to Allah and simulating Islamic worship are not “devotional activities,” District Judge Phyllis Hamilton decreed in a highly publicized lawsuit brought by Christian pupils and parents at Excelsior Elementary School in Byron, Calif.

The Thomas Moore Law Center in Ann Arbor, Mich., which represents Christians on issues related to “religion, family values, and the sanctity of life,” intends to file its brief with the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. Given that this court (dubbed the “9th Circus” by Rush Limbaugh) is notoriously left-wing and is by far the most overturned in the nation, the case could very well end up before the U.S. Supreme Court.

“I would like to think we will stop it before that,” said Finn Laursen, executive director of Christian Educators Association International (CEAI). His organization of public and private school teachers would likely enter the case as “a friend of the court” in support of the Thomas Moore Center.

Schools throughout the nation are urged to abide by the guidelines for religion in the classroom handed down by American Civil Liberties Union. That organization has caused school officials to be gun-shy for fear of being dragged into court if anything not hostile to Christianity appears in their classrooms. Many parents in California believe the Islam indoctrination case now in the courts resulted from the schools bending over backward to please ACLU.

ACLU Snickering but Otherwise Silent

NewsMax.com has requested and is still waiting for a comment from ACLU. Doesn’t the heavily pro-Islam curriculum at the center of the case violate the organization’s insistence on what it always refers to as “separation of church and state”?

An ACLU spokesman chuckled in apparent disbelief when NewsMax recited the curriculum involved, which also includes staging mock Islamic "holy" wars.

In his interview with NewsMax.com, Laursen, a former public school superintendent in Ohio, recalled that ACLU “did not even want the subject [Christianity] to be brought up that might lead someone to believe that there was some reality to the God of the Bible.”

Thomas Moore Law Center spokesman Brian Burch told NewsMax that the group’s lawyers, in their research, discovered schools are definitely being pressured to insert Islamic views into their curricula.

Concern over the case is enhanced by the arrest last fall of Abdurahman Alamoudi, founder and former executive director of American Muslim Council. AMC is listed as one of the organizations that contributed to ACLU's guideline “Religion in the Public Schools: A Joint Statement of Current Law.”

ACLU offices in Washington confirmed to NewsMax that Alamoudi, a former appointee of Bill Clinton and adviser to Hillary Clinton, personally represented AMC in that effort. (Alamoudi says he is innocent of the terrorism-related charges, for which he is in jail without bail.)

Laursen opined to NewsMax that “if there were equal justice coming from that organization [ACLU], they themselves” would be suing on behalf of the outraged parents.

Now at the very real risk of sounding like a two faced hypocrite..
There are may points in the above post that I most heartily agree with.

I think we differ in this..
When you see or hear "Muslim" you see a belief system that threatens the very roots of European / Christian civilization... Fair enough.
I see people ( many of whom I know and have spent many long days in close contact with) stuggling to adapt a 12th Century world view and code of conduct to the 21st Century. Many are doing just that.... and many are not.
What we sometime forget is that as Christians, we have been guilty of some of the same acts of intolerance and hatred as the faithful of Islam.
We've "grown out" of most of that, but we need to reflect on it from time to time lest we fall back into that pit.
I would hope that this shed a little light on the way I see things. I don't "pick and choose" from the "buffet" of Christianity, I belive in the whole idea, but I also belive that mutual respect and communication will go alot farther than naked hostility.
I do also hold dear to the belief that good will and big guns will get you more than just good will.
I also never forget that fratricide is a cultural sport among the Arabs, has been long before Islam, and despite Islam's teachings of "brotherhood" they still practice it.

Such schoolroom activities as praying to Allah and simulating Islamic worship are not “devotional activities,” WTF are they...line dances?

If some Catholics came in and "simulated" Christian worship by conducting baptisms of each child, would the judge have the same opinion

In Muslim theology, reciting the phrase "There is no God but Allah and Mohammod is his prophet" IS what makes one a Muslim, to the same degree that accepting baptism is what brings one into the Christian faith

Most of the Crusaders neve made it home, either....
Ended up having to buy off the Muslims for passage to the Holy Cities.

Am glad to note that we no longer have to do this..

I appreciate your open mindedness and you sound like a charitable person.

God told us of what Ishmael would bring to the world. He loved him very much, yet the covenant was with Isaac. This is where much of the problem lies.

Mohammed - as Hitler took advantage of his people's pain and anger - took advantage of this. Look what it's wrought.

These people need the His truth and His light in the worst possible way. However that happens, through coaxing or devastation it just needs to happen. For everyone's good.

Thank you for giving me pause and making me think.

...and I agree about diversity, to a point. But let us remind ourselves that we are as strong a nation as we are because we are diverse.

But I really don't think we need to add "in Allah we trust" to the $1 bill I have in my wallet.
I've learned a good deal about Islam and Muslims in my life, and I have found many things worthy of merit in Arab / Islamic culture , however I DON'T think it has a place here in the USA.
Fair enough?

I try to be charitable, but you'll notice the reference to "big guns"... ;^)

..and thank you, sometimes I need to be reminded that one can be a little too "understanding and tolerant" at a very real risk to oneself and one's faith.
Look forward to speaking with you again.

I ping Christians to certain threads. I have a Christian list and a Catholic list. Would you like me to add you to one?

It's OK if you say no.

Which one Catholic or Christian?

Tommorow night I go to Beth Shilo (Messianic Jewish Temple) Sunday morning it's the big Catholic Church then Sunday night Jerry Falwell is coming to the giant Baptist church for a service which I will not miss.

I'm only saying this so you don't feel uncomfortable telling me which list you want to be on, some may be sensitive to that type of question.

BTW my MOS wasn't 19 Delta but as a 11-Hotel TOW gunner I was a Cav Scout for 2 years.

"God told us of what Ishmael would bring to the world. He loved him very much, yet the covenant was with Isaac. This is where much of the problem lies."

The spirtual is manifested in the physical.

Not until the knowledge of the blessing going with Isaac and the curse going with Ishmael is realized can one fully understand the age-old strife between Jew and Muslim, Jew and Gentile, and man and God.

All the strife in the world today generates from the Middle East and all the strife in the Middle East is generated between the seed of Isaac and Ishmael, Jew and Arab.

The battle is carnal, but the root is spiritual and has at it's core the jealousy of thousands of years of warring between the children of Isaac and Ishmael.

The world does not know or understand this. But Jews do. And Christians do. And Muslims say they do.

Will there ever be a reconciliation between the sons of Ishmael and Issac and the Christians?
