The President had a very busy day today, leaving this morning for New Orleans, Louisiana, appearing first at a roundtable discussion on faith-based initiatives, then at Union Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church where he spoke to faith based and community leaders, and finally at a fundraising luncheon at the National D Day Museum.
He then traveled to Atlanta, Georgia where, accompanied by Coretta Scott King and King's daughter, Christine King Ferris, he placed a wreath on the tomb of Martin Luther King, Jr. on what would have been his 75th birthday, and this evening is at a fundraiser this evening with Democrat, Zell Miller, who will be campaigning for the Presidents reelection this year (Go, Zell!)
Enjoy this MUCH needed visit to Sanity Island as you revel in your Daily Dose of Dubya!!

Not a picture of a protester! I was at the King Center today and I think my 25 y.o. son and I were the only Bush supporters there. We were surrounded by about 200 protesters.
The crowd was really getting into it when 5 Marta buses pulled up and parked right in front of them, blocked their view of Bush.
That was a great idea. I was very worried about Bush's safety. This was a very angry crowd. And the security was tight--sharpshooters on a roof top, a bomb-sniffing dog, police all over the place, and SWAT teams even standing on top of the buses.
As Bush was leaving my son caught a glimpse of him in the limousine and I saw his hand waving.
But what really angered me was that as Bush's limousine passed by the protesters (just beyond the buses), people were giving Bush the finger. How disrespectful.
Please pray for President Bush and our country. The hate-Bush and hate-America crowd is scary.

I wanted to get downtown to see him SOOOO badly, just couldn't do it. Lots of people here are furious that some moronic protestors DEFACED the National D-Day museum with graffiti and it was there when the President arrived.
I did see Air Force One heading out over Lake Pontchatrain when he left tho.
Hope he comes again soon. This is one President I'd love to see in person.

I haven't heard about the panic attacks and sleeping pills Truthy. Do you have any source or speculation as to how this information got out? (smelling Clinton here)
Wow. I mean, yes many people take things to sleep occasionally and many people have anxiety reactions. But to have that come out in a campaign isn't good. And is just one more reasons of a great many that Dean shouldn't be President.

Caption to Alpork's picture........
"Well, if I stand here and keep talking long enough, I'll create my own global warming alert."
Or........
"I'm hoping this fat will keep me warm through this Winter. Said in tiny off-camera voice, Who scheduled this speech for the dead of Winter, anyway?"

WoW! Thanks for the eyewitness account!
So there WERE a few hundred protesters, eh?
I wasn't going to include any pictures of them, but that sign was so unbelieveably STUPID that I included it.
btw, there is a PRAY for PRESIDENT BUSH thread on FR every single day, and there are literally millions who pray for him daily in this country.
Greater is HE who is in our President than he who is in the hate-Bush, hate-America left!
(Any more details on his visit??)

Wow, sounds like you and your son were outnumbered amongst the enemy. Glad they didn't turn on you personally.
What's amusing to me is how these protestors can claim to know what MLK's opinion of the President or the war or whatever would actually be. Who's to say that MLK wouldn't have supporting the liberation of the Iraqi people from a murderous tyrannt??

The protestors defaced the D-Day museum????
These jerks should all be rounded up and jailed, IMO.
That must have been really cool to see AirForce One flying over Lake Pontchatrain!

Heard it on Rush and Sean this afternoon. Drudge has the links to the source on his website. It's well documented - comes from his own mouth!
How stupid is Dean? Please, don't answer that.
Apparently he thinks he can be President, suffering from panic attacks, and "taking stuff" to help him get to sleep.

The way that light is shining on him with the globe in the back, makes me think of something like....
BIG AL: ".....And then I heard God say, you know he was standing right next to me, "Let there be light! So the next thing I invented was the sun!"
