Prayer Request. Stepson threatened by Gang

Would like to once again call upon the FREEPER Prayer Network.

Over the weekend my Step-Children's Dad's house was broken into. Numerous Firearms, personal items, jewelry and his work Truck (2002 Chevy Pickup) were stolen.

During the subsequent look around the house, they found 2 cigarettes (apparently an off brand or something) that our 17 year old son recognized as ones smoked by another teenager who lived down the street. Then during police interviews he remembered this guy asking casual questions about his dad, his job, etc etc on the bus.

Finally a neighbor has come forward and said that he saw a van parked in front of the house the night it was broken in to. While the description is not exact, it closely matches the van driven by the kid asking the questions etc.

Unfortunately, all of this is not enough evidence for the cops to pick up the kid, but as it always works the word has gotten to him that my stepson identified him as a possible suspect.

We have just found out that this kid is a gang member, and has an extensive record of burglaries, assaults, drug charges, etc etc.

He has passed word through mutual friends and acquantances that he has "marked" our son with his gang, and that he is "dead".

PLease pray that the police find ample evidence to pick up this little punk, and that his threats are just the idle threats of a 17 year old thug.

I know this kid will probably make bail, if and when he is charged, and that the threat to my family is not over...

Too bad this country does not take crimes like this seriously. He should serve minium of five years and while waiting for trial told that if anything happens to you or your family it will be a mandatory 15 years.

Bully's and thugs back down when confronted with their own mortality.

O commish, this is wonderful news. Hopefully he will sing like a canary while he is in their custody. If he rats out his too friends in exchange for a shorter term, maybe they can file the terror threat on him alone to get his time back up there.

The little punk MAY be making idle threats but the consequences of being wrong about that are just too horrible. Keep the boy as far away as possible, 20 miles is too close.

Bullies and thugs do not always back down, especially 17 year olds with something to prove. Telling a thug who you know has already broken into your house once that he missed the gun is plain stupid, unless you're never going to leave your home.

I've seen things like this escalate to violence a number of times when I was on the job. Our instructions were to always try to talk people down from that ledge. Things get out of control way too quickly in one on one situations. This thug is backed by a gang? A bunch of anti-social punks who think an insult or a challenge to one of their crew is a declaration of war? Yeah, advise the civilian to beat his chest...that'll do it.

Did you read the original post? It's this persons step child and it is not their house that the thug broke into so the thug knowing that the other biological parent and step parent are ready to take action if they have to would certainly be a deterrent.

The cops don't do their jobs anymore so maybe the "civilians" need to start taking care of things on their own.

I just heard about a home invasion in Georgia, on Fox News.

A beloved highschool coach and his 17 year old son, who came to his defense, were both killed.

Both punks who did it were shot by police.

I'm sorry the coach didn't have a weapon when he confronted the home invaders.

UPDATE :

The Pickup has been recovered abandoned at a local gas station. All 4 tires were slashed and all the tools and equipment my Step-sons dad had in the truck are gone, but the truck is otherwise undamaged and only a little worse for where. It looks like all the other property stolen has been pawned or fenced already.

The perp and 2 others are all in custody and have confessed to the break-in.

Thank you everyone for your prayers and support, we are slowly getting back to normal now, My Step-son has returned to school and says nobody has given him any problems at all.
