THANKS! You took the words right outta my mouth! That's exactly what I was thinking! Don't forget that the liberal media WHORES will also cook the numbers of listeners! Hold on to those BARF BAGS, cause it's gonna get REAL sickening! Watch for the ALL the TV stations and the HELLywood demons come out and promote this trash talk radio! After a couple of months, watch them HAIL it as the most wonderful thing that happen to talk radio! MARK MY WORDS, they'll even say AL Franken, aka SATAN'S TWIN BROTHER, ratings have surpassed Rush's!

I expect you're right. It may make a big splash in the summer, pre-conventions, and then be a mouthpiece for the DNC talking points through the election, then quietly fade away. It also may never get off the ground. Franken is such a loose cannon anything could happen.
I wonder what station it is.

There is a Volvo driving liberal/communist in the Boston market (he lives in Cambridge) on the radio who is funny, inciteful and can hold an audience. His name is Jim Braude. Even though I never agree with him, he is listenable. If given the chance, I think he could actually make a go of it.

In addition, the same network plans to air a show called "Champions of Justice," hosted by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. RFK Jr. is widely recognized as one of the most brain-dead members of Congress. Is he confusing RFK Jr. with Patrick Kennedy (as the brain-dead member of Congress)?

"Don't be so sure that the venture is doomed....every lib/communist/socialist leaning person in the World will make it a point to tune in...the same way Hillery's book sold so well....libs bought it..." I agree they'll make a point of tuning in, possibly for even a week! The act of buying a book (or being handed a freebie from the DNC) takes only minutes, not a huge commitment of time. I don't see it being successful tho and no matter what SNL producers think, Al Franken has never been funny... he's too bitter and close minded. IMHO of course.

Do you remember The Chevy Chase TV show? All these years he came off as a real wit. But it was just memorized lines, and he totally flubbed in a variety show venue.
Talk radio is going to be even tougher for Franken. No goofy props to rely on. Real time give and take. All of his canned jokes will be expended the first hour.
Then what?
Dead air, and conservatives making a fool of him.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody is there to hear it did it actually make a sound? If Al Franken gets a talk radio show...........?
To: sweet_diane
The liberal audience isn't going to listen to ANY talk radio. They are already fully consumed with watching the brainless eye-candy on MTV.

The countdown is on. This reminds me of the Phil Donahue show on MSNBC. Me and some friends had a little bet going on what was the over/under. He lasted a *little* longer then we thought.
This should be interesting!
To: Pokey78
Progress Media has signed Franken to a one-year deal to host a show opposite Rush Limbaugh from Noon to 3pm eastern time.Isn't this like airing World Cup Soccer directly opposite the Super Bowl?
To: TheGeezer
I wonder about the timing here of this lib gabfest radio. Iam sure it will be a failure, but is it going to go down in flames the day after the election?
I don't think the lib's have the patience or the stamina for talk radio.lib's are a instant gratification bunch so it seems to me this only a tool for them to bash the President right up to the election knowing there venture will fail but getting the mileage they want for the agenda they push at the moment. which is Bush hating 24/7

I always thought of Franken as one of the unfunny second-tier crew on SNL.
He looks funny, but that was about it.
He may very well "alter the political landscape" but I wouldn't be surprised
if it is in ways the Left can't fathom.
