City to retract release calling Free Republic a 'hate group.'
Fresno will pay $60,000 to conservative online forum Free Republic and retract a news release that called the organization a "hate group," according to a settlement agreement released Monday. Free Republic founder Jim Robinson, who lives in Fresno, said he wouldn't have filed the suit if the city had acknowledged its error.
"I think it's unfortunate the city did not retract and apologize immediately after they knew they were in the wrong," Robinson said.
City Attorney Hilda Cantu Montoy said the lawsuit was settled to "avoid the expense and burden of litigation."
"It's not in any way admitting any liability by any party," Montoy said.

I am glad to hear it.
I hope this sends a message to government officials that the definition of "hate group" is not Conservatives and patriots, and that just because a liberal HATES the idea of Conservatives getting together, that does not mean they can use their government position for tax supported "smoke and mirrors".
Another victory for the "just because you say it , doesn't make it true" files.

Can someone please tell me why the City of Fresno NEEDS a Human Relations Commission? You would be amazed at how many cities have useless HRCs. Even my burg of only 50K people has one. It must be a plan in the Leftist Playbook, a way to suck some money off of the public teat for that can be used for liberal rabble-rousing indefinitely.

The idea of a Human Relations Commission is so absurd, I can't even think straight.
But the staggering irony of a Human Relations Commission that relates to other humans in way such that a 60K settlement arises out of it...well...it leaves me speechless.

This is a banner day! I'm sorry the real culprits do not suffer more. I'm sure this will not cause any real outrage from the citizens of Fresno (as it should).
I'll console myself knowing the foul-mouthed wretches on that other site must be wallowing in the pond scum with their mass anger. I'm sure the "Kerry Word" is flying out like bats at sunset.
"Hate" is such a strong emotion. It is almost always used as a label for those that do not hate by those that do.

TOS is ElPeePee...(LibertyPost aka the LittlePeoplesPlace).
One is considered to have hit the big time over there if you have had the opportunity to have one of your posts here on FR, CutnPasted to ElPeePee. That practice is referred to as QVCP (Quoted via CutnPaste)
It's the most productive time of their lives.

Can someone please tell me why the City of Fresno NEEDS a Human Relations Commission? Simple.
A Human Relations Commission, or HRC, serves to enhance the real-time value-added niches inherent in monetized proactive consumers. This in turn delivers cutting-edge synergies that allow businesses to harness back-end e-markets and monitor disintermediate compelling experiences. As a result, an HRC is then able to optimize holistic metrics towards the reinvention of 24/7 infomediaries. Bottom line- HRCs incentivize user-centric content with out-of-the-box cross-platform methodologies, allowing for streamlined frictionless functionalities across the board. And in that sense, it really is a slam-dunk, win-win, no-brainer. ; )

Jeesh. Jim, why do you live in that cesspool. No wonder you started FR...you're surrounded by Marxist thugs.
