NYT Tuesday: Dean campaign hits turbulence

Democratic Party officials now say that Howard Dean has slipped into turbulent territory, the NY TIMES is planning to report in Tuesday editions, beset by challenges and problems in both Iowa and New Hampshire, the two states where he was looking to nail down the nomination with early decisive wins.

Newsroom sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT how NYT's Nagourney is polishing a story about the Dean troubles.

"Dean's supporters expressed distress Monday at what many described as his faltering performance in a televised debate over the weekend, the latest in a series of difficulties he has encountered," Nagourney claims.

"With the rest of the field working in Iowa, Gen. Wesley Clark has taken advantage in New Hampshire to move up in the polls behind Dean, drawing crowds that are beginning to rival Dean's and threatening his once dominant position in the state."

Impacting late Monday....

Not yet... Can't he hold off on losing until November?

Substitute "Bush" for "Dean" and "McCain" for "Clark" and you will have the same story written before the primaries in 2000.

Gotta drum up some drama before the primary.

True, but have you seen a loonier primary season than this one?

Now that the NYT has lent its imprimatur to this story, it will be okay for the rest of the media to report.

Hillary cannot allow Dean to win the nomination and gain control of the Party, if she intends to run in the future.

It's all part of the Klinton plan to undermine both Dean and Clark. Then the First Feloness will step in to "save the party," put Clark on as VP candidate, and sail into November elections withou having to answer any embarrassing questions. That's my prediction, anyway.

On the same subject, O'Reilly just started his program with "Talking Points" chiding Clark for not coming on the Factor. He enumerated all the other Dem candidates who have been on the program, all getting good treatment and all willing to come back. He said Clark is being controlled by the Clintons who don't like O'Reilly and anyone with Clark's lack of courage to come on the program wouldn't have enough courage to be President. (Not exact words-but how I heard it.)

After watching the so called debate last night, they are all loony tunes. If Dean wins we will have a lot better chance in really improving our margins, in the House and Senate. The Clinton's will make some kind of move after South Carolina, it will depend on the support Clark is getting, as to what it will be. I put nothing past these two snakes.!!
