Very well J.P.

(I checked your profile to see who I was dealing with here.)

I'll have to check if the thread that was pulled was started by me and get back with you and C.J. on that one.

Of all the observers that may have any bearing or ability to persuade the president regarding his ongoing immigration initiative, it would be my hope that he is getting from them the true feelings from the myriad of comments found on these threads in the past three days.

They could and should be of the utmost concern to him if for no other reason than to provide a true heartbeat for how his initiative is being recieved among Americans who already are "legal" citizens.

I sense that as an ironic result of a proclamation by the leader of this nation of his intent to bring citizenship to literally millions of illegal immigrants already residing in this country that an immense gap has and will continue to develop as a result.

It would appear that in the formidable process of attempting to resolve the immigration crisis that the possibility of an even greater problem could result as a consequence of it - namely the continued loss of even more rights for those already born and raised in this country.

These indeed are times to try the heart and resolve of this country. Unity could very well be the first casualty.

You will find they are hardly big advocates of conservative ideas.

This is a bipartisan issue.

Thanks to both of you.

I can see now what you were both saying about the pulled thread and I also apologize for my own misunderstanding.

Yes, the venom was flowing way too freely for it to have remained, and it was the right thing to do.

I can't remember who began the thread, but it had substance to it and so it is unfortuante it is gone, and hopefully it will be a good lesson and a word to the wise.

Decency as we all know is a two-way street and in my experiences the majority of those around here are very capable of demonstrating it.

We all can work among ourselves and cooperative to achieve better understanding of the problems we all face together as a country and the solutions we can work towards to help solve them.

C.J., I think your idea to leave the pulled thread link as a reminder is a good one.

Best, H2BMe

The letter urges the members to call the White House and let the president know what they think.

And then what?

This bozo doesn't care about or nor wants to hear what you or anybodyelse thinks about his selling out America to his good buddy Vicente Fox.

I believe he is so blinded by his perception of his own success that he can just flat override the will of the people and what's best for this nation.

Are we just now seeing what Bush really is and is it too late to interdict his unilateral and seemingly unbridled wildness with common sense.

This is crazy politics and makes no sense whatsoever.

He has done what no Democrat could do, my household will not vote for him nor support his reelection in November 2004 if this awful plan of his is brought to fruition.

This is not a threat but a promise.

I am not a pollster but I predict this will cause many conservatives to stay away from the polls come November 2004.!

It seems he doesn't give a "hoot" what those of us at the grassroots level think.

Where is the outrage by the countless and nameless voters, who put America first, against this Clintonesque steamroller type vote hustling politicking?

The same place as the Presidents concern for his OATH OF OFFICE. Ignored and cast aside becaus it's just much dang trouble to worry about.

If you think we are pissed off. Imagine what Ranger Eggle's family is thinking

Ranger Eggle was shot and killed while he and several U.S. Border Patrol Agents attempted to apprehended two armed, illegal aliens who had fled from Mexican authorities into Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, Arizona at 1400 hours. The Mexican authorities called the Border Patrol and notified them of the suspects. A Border Patrol helicopter in the area located the suspects and directed Ranger Eggle and Border Patrol Agents to the area.

One of the suspects was apprehended without incident, but the second suspect opened fire with an AK-47 assault rifle, striking Ranger Eggle below his vest, causing a fatal wound. The suspect then fled on foot south towards the Mexican border. He ran to approximately fifty yards from the border, where approximately 30 to 50 Mexican officers from numerous agencies opened fire from Mexico killing him. A medivac helicopter was sent to the scene, but Ranger Eggle had already succumbed to his wounds.

Ranger Eggle was a recent recipient of the Director's Award at FLETC. He is survived by his parents and a sister, who is also a law enforcement ranger for the Park Service.

"Deport Illegal Aliens"

Let's do some calculations:
At various places I have seen the various numbers as to how many illegals are in this country, some as high as 20 million. Let's use 10 million since that is in the middle and reasonable.

If we put 50 illegals on a bus, it will take 200,000 busloads to send'em back.
If we send 50 busloads per day, it would take 4000 days, or 11 years, to send'em back

A better way might be to treat illegal employment like an IRS or OSHA violation --- start slapping the employer with all kinds of heavy fines. You don't see people saying going after the tax evaders is too massive of a problem so we must do nothing at all. No one has a problem with employers getting hit hard if they inadvertantly overlook one OSHA regulation ---- but if they deliberately break a number of laws to increase their profit margins by hiring illegals --- too much trouble going after them.

You mean a union leader representing a branch of the American Federation of Government Employees, AFL-CIO. You will find they are hardly big advocates of conservative ideas.

President Bush's Amnesty isn't a conservative idea, and is opposed by most conservatives, as well as the American People.

All but open borders and the erosion of the rule of law are also not conservative ideas.

You really ought to keep that top link as a warning to others. If those who become catatonic over the rule of law cannot themselves follow simple forum rules then maybe they ought to pause and take heed.

About that plank in your own eye...

How do we know that the thread in question wasn't pulled because open border/illegal alien enablers like yourself hijacked it and turned into a slugfest? I've seen such threads. You jump in and start bashing anyone who opposes illegal immigration, PRND21 jumps in and calls everyone racist, and then the thread turns into a brawl.

No, but being realistic is certainly not a liberal idea. On the other hand, actively seeking workable and just solutions to problems is a conservative one, as is humaneness, human rights, family values, and hard work.
