CHICAGO, Jan. 7 /U.S. Newswire/ -- No stranger to blazing new trails and knocking down barriers, Ambassador Carol Moseley Braun again makes history as she runs for president on the primary ballot in 20 states -- more than any woman candidate ever before.
"We are in an unprecedented 20 races as of today. And that number is guaranteed to grow as we move forward to file in still more states," said Campaign Manager Patricia Ireland.
Moseley Braun joins a distinguished group of notable women, who have made presidential bids, including Senator Margaret Chase Smith, who campaigned in five contests in 1964, and Congressperson Shirley Chisholm, who competed in 14 contests in 1972.
"Carol Moseley Braun is not only making history, she is making headway in her quest to take the 'Men Only' sign off the White House door."
The ambassador is knocking on doors as well as knocking down barriers as she continues her vigorous campaign schedule. This week she is making stops in New Hampshire, Washington, D.C., South Carolina and Iowa.
Ambassador Carol Moseley Braun was the first African American woman elected to the U.S. Senate and the first woman to serve in the U.S. Senate from Illinois. During her Senate term (1992 through 1998), she was the only African American and one of six women among the 100 senators.

It sure seemed that way when she made her first announcement that she was running. Crickets were chirping all over.

"...her quest to take the 'Men Only' sign off the White House door."
Thats really nice & I kinda like her personally (not her positions) but...
We are in dire times and in need of candidates with more depth than merely breaking gender barriers.
See needs to fire her feminist staffers - I wondered where they were hiding after prostituting their ideals over a bj in exchange for a veto of the partial-birth-abortion ban.

They seem to miss the point. I don't object to Carol Moseley Braun because she's a woman. I object to her because she's not very bright and would get many of us killed, and many of the rest would be unemployed.

Near moronic, looks to me. IQ maybe 70? I'm serious.

She should be in the Big House, not the White House.

Near moronic, looks to me. IQ maybe 70? I'm serious. I really don't have any way to estimate her IQ...maybe she tests well, who knows. But I've seen her discuss issues and she doesn't appear to have a very good grasp of many things, economics was the one that really jumped out at me. And if you have a president who doesn't have a rudimentary clue about economics you have a recipe for disaster. She doesn't have a prayer of a chance in any case...so she's just wasting money as she hasn't injected anything of value issue wise.

Uh and the fact she hasn't been grilled to her scandal that got her booted to Ambassador of nowhere. An Illinois crook (we've got plenty) now searching for a new cookie jar to steal from. She's bright enough to get this far, steal and get away with it. I haven't listened to ONE THING she's said this campaign. Has she answered her past yet? ANYBODY?

What I find interesting is that they insist on being treated as a real candidate, but then refuse to measure themselves as a real candidate. Making the ballot in a primary on less then half of the states is not 'taking the men only sign off the White House' It is a campaign that is miserably failing.

Oohh for the days of Shirley Chisholm and Barbara Jordan. They could have run rings around CMB blindfolded and on one leg.

Her campaign is nothing more than resume padding for the lecture circuit.
