Email/Letter writing campaign against The President's plan for immigration
Myself

Posted on 01/07/2004 7:45:17 PM PST by Remember_Salamis

Has anybody started an email/letter writing campaign in response to the president's proposed immigration initiative?

We need to show the president that he can't take advantage of his conservative base.

I cannot express my total dismay and disenchantment with President Bush regarding this awful proposal on immigration. He is aiding and abetting criminals in my opinion.

I WAS a HUGE Bush supporter.........

When a nation loses its borders, it ceases to exist.

I am so sure these illegals will come forward and say they are working under the table. Their employers will also notify the IRS. ;)

As one disguised illegal immigrant interviewed said..she has been working in the U.S. for 15 years and she is afraid to come forward.

If welfare was reformed, we would not have this problem..jobs would HAVE to be taken by U.S. recipients. You need assistance..you WILL work at any job we find for you in your locale.

It's all about votes!

Wake up, man. There are already many millions of illegals here.

Do you subscribe to the chimera of pretending they are not here changing beds at the Holiday Inn, scrubbing washrooms at your favorite Wal-Mart, digging trenches for the cement footings on your new construction. washing the dishes at your favorite bistro, or, perhaps, answering your door for the FedEx guy while dusting your furniture?

Cut your own grass? Good. When did you last spend all day crawling around picking lettuce, artichokes, strawberries, etc? I bet your child didn't take that summer job either.

My family came to California during the Dust Bowl, when my mother was less than a year old. They picked peaches, cut grapes and chopped cotton (this includes my then 8 year old aunt and 6 year old uncle). They lived in an unheated garage, through the benevolence of their landlord. The fact that they had no furniture or blankets, let alone heat was a cross they bore to have a roof. They bought their food with script at the "company store" (watch the Grapes of Wrath and subtract the commie supscript and that's my family.)

All people stive for a better life for themselves and, most importantly for their children. Through family sacrifice (ie: left the farm that the govt was foreclosing on anyway) worked their asses off at menial labor, they were able to afford modest (and I mean modest) homes, one car, eventually, and a place to call home.

How damned hard-hearted are you to deny that dream to another?

I couldn’t introduce him as Dr. Lott of Harvard because he was speaking about his book, More Guns Less Crime that hadn’t been pier reviewed yet.

Ah, would that be "peer reviewed"? Or is Dr. Lott launching a boat?

That same Charles Lindberg later joined the military and flew combat missions for the United Sates. Nice try.

Sometimes I'm a little fuzzy on history. In 1925 were the taxpayers picking up the tab and providing all the social(ist) services that are required now?--or did your(and my grandparents) come expecting nothing more than the opporunity to BECOME American citizens by learning the language, swearing allegiance to this country and assimilating into the American culture as fast as they could to ensure that their children would fully understand what it meant to BE an American?

I quite agree -- GWB now forces the opponents (all of them) to take a public stand on what has been the so-called Democrats' unofficial policy for years, and even the basis for Al Gore's illegal operation out of the VP office to selectively naturalize illegals quid pro quo for their votes in the 1996 reelection campaign.

The "Democrats" want illegal aliens on a fast track to citizenship -- as if that's not just pandering in a sorry attempt to grow their shrinking base of support.

Again, there is a clear choice in 2004.

In 2000, it was between Al Gore's $2 a gallon "carbon tax" on gasoline or GWB's tax cuts, medicare reform, education reform, and (small d) democratization of the world.

The "Democrats'" positions on the War on Terror, and in particular, the liberation of Iraq, are distinctions without a difference from GWB's.

GWB will win Florida and Texas, and he has a realistic shot at California (he did even before this proposal, which after all will be amended, probably to add more border patrol, electronic frontier, etc). He will win all or most of the South, all or most of the "flyover" states, and will be competitive in the Midwest and Northeast.

GWB by at least ten per cent of the popular vote, and a substantial majority of the Electoral College votes.

A while back I figured that he'd lose a little ground in both houses of Congress in 2004, but now I don't think so.
