Email/Letter writing campaign against The President's plan for immigration
Myself

Posted on 01/07/2004 7:45:17 PM PST by Remember_Salamis

Has anybody started an email/letter writing campaign in response to the president's proposed immigration initiative?

We need to show the president that he can't take advantage of his conservative base.

GWB has been so brilliant in his forign policy and prosecution of the War on Terrorism - how can he turn around and be such a drooler on domestic issues?

The Dems scratch our back on foreign policy...

Today, Pres. Bush lost my vote. I won`t vote for any dim-wit-crat, so I guess it is off to the Libertarian Party I go.

LOL! LOL!. You trollers are dense. The Libertarians would let everybody in including islamofascists.

It is so funny watching you DU trollers trying to stir up trouble.

There you go. You were a moment ago going to throw your vote away to a group you supposedly knew nothing at all about. Maybe your understanding of President Bush's plan to end the illegal immigration problem and your understanding of his motivation for it are as equally flawed as your understanding of what the Libertarian Party stands for.

When did I ever say I was going to throw away my vote? I only said I was going to search for a candidate or a party that best represented my views, and my attention would go to the Libertarians (my attention will be with the Libertarian Party candidate(s)). I never said I would vote that way, only look into it. I have not checked out the Libertarian site yet, but will do so. If I don`t like what I see, I will look elsewhere. Maybe you didn`t notice, but I am not the only one who is upset with the Presidents proposal. If you wanted to boost support for G.W.`s plan, you should try and change my mind with instructive words, not insults.

Bush is an a**hole for doing this. He'll never get my vote again. Obviously those of you who view this as a "great" tactical move do not realize the burden illegals place on our society. Welcome to a new standard of living, LOWER!

You are calling me dense? DU troller? Please ....You think some migrant worker can`t take your job? My dad is an out of work computer programmer. Now, a migrant worker does his job. You all need to read between the lines on this deal.

RE:

"How do you seal a porous border like that? Put up electric fences??? -- Fine with me. "

Use the 38th Parallel between North and South Korea as a model.
Barbed wire fences a mile apart. Free-fire zone and minefield in between. Anything that moves out there dies.

The North Korean Kommies still tunnel under the DMZ, float around it, and send propaganda balloons floating over it...

But it sure slows 'em down considerably!

Or just do what Vincete' FOX does at HIS Southern borders; greet "undocumented" visitors from South America with machine-guns. Quid pro quo.

But we both know that isn't happening - so let's just celibrate diversity.

And learn Spanish.

How exactly are they being rewarded? If they'd stayed at home they wouldn't have to pay the fine.

If sealing the border from illegal crossing and locating and processing 12 million trepassing foreign nationals was easy, we wouldn't need any of this other crap.

Who said it would be easy? And insulting someone gets you nothing my friend. Put down the Liberal playbook.

I have. It's a problem that Bush is taking the initiative in trying to solve.

Also, a person from Mexico who used pick lettuce now has taken your dad's computer job. Please keep on posting you are showing the "effectivenss" of DU trolling.

The lines going on in PWBHS head,

Well they caught me about the Libertarian Party. Go to page two, say a migrant worker stole your dad's computer job.

First, the 9/11 guys came here on legal visitor visas and second, I don't want the U.S. to be "held down".

This issue is going to be FRs ongoing 2004 stupidity parade and "I'm sending a message not to eff with ME" clown act. How freeping boring.

Sorry to tell you folks, but this issue doesn't resonate with Bush's "core" supporters as any kind of betrayal. It will be seen for what it is ... a proactive, open and negotiable proposal to address a national challenge in a real world effective way. Bush garnered 50.5 million votes in 2000. 800 whiny Buchanan Brigaders and other flakey Third Party and Paleo dead enders on an internet forum do not represent ANY groundswell to throw him overboard. If you want to stay home in November, stay home. Who cares?

Anyone who'd abandon Bush over this issue is NO core supporter. Core supporters don't demand ideological pure servicing and tribute from the President and their Reps on every damn policy initiative.

As usual, the "realtrueconservativepatriots" here are shuffling right along in lockstep with Nancy Pelosi, Ted Kennedy, the AFL-CIO and Public Unions, and the folks at DU. It's just all about denying Bush and the GOP meaningful political wins.

"And may I ask where you get that idea when Bush has proposed that illegals be able to collect social security in their home country."

Strike one.

Show me where Bush has made that proposal.

Uh first of all that wall is meant to keep people in. Starving North Koreans under the yoke of some meglomaniac, whose is loved by Madeline Albright, would love to get out.

Also how long is the wall that seperates the Koreas, 100 miles. Probably at a minimum takes 3-5 billion doolars to maintain yearly, Multiply that number by 20 and you get a cost of $100 Billion yearly for your wall on the Mexican border.

Nice twist. They may get in on legal visas, but they stay on expired ones. Nor do they typically stay where they say their residence says they will be on the visa. So they break the law by lying on their forms. And I said, "secure," for OUR country. Not held down as it is in Iraq. Still, a shame you can't answer those questions.

.. how in the holy h*ll does this benefit the common American?

Because it will move millions of people now living underground into daylight. Provided effective enforcement everybody has an incentive to work within the rules. Employers don't have to go to the black market for cheap labor and people who want jobs here can get them without breaking our laws. After their done working they'll go home. They won't become citizens, they won't vote, they won't be anybody's constituency.

The "base" is baseless.

One reality the so-called “base” (the my way or hiway base) had better recognize is that they no longer are the “base”. The have forfeited that distinction for the past 4 election cycles by sitting out, voting 3rd party, or just being general liabilities. With the shift of the democrats to the very farthest reaches of the left, the middle of the road voters are increasingly voting GOP. The best example is the California election. McClintock ran his entire campaign as a red meat "true conservative" in a fight that ended in a disaster for the conservatives in California. Arnold owes them nothing, and their influence is nil. The base Bush is going after is now the middle and traditional conservatives that have the maturity to know the difference between Republicans and Democrats and, because a "base" that has shown itself unable and unwilling to support their candidate unless he meets their purity test is no longer a base but an opposition group.

So the reality is that your claim to be the "base" of the GOP is no longer valid as has been so since you let his father twist in the wind and voted for Perot and then sat out the election because Dole wasn't pure enough and then sat out 2000 to the tune of 2million of the “base” for whatever fit of pique they could manufacture. There is a new base and it isn't the unappeasables I see posting around here lately. Bush will win and I hold no expectation it will be with what you call the "base". It will be with those that see him for what he is, a decent, honorable and effective president for the entire country. That is why I can dislike some of his decisions but sill support him 100%. So carry on with your pitiful threats to, once again, withhold your votes and just like California, it will only make you less relevant and isolated. You can join the far left democrat party in obscurity.

You got that right. In their playbook, secure borders and enforced laws = whiney paleocon pipedream.
