Won't happen. Ever Why can't that happen? Sure we can't kick them all out but we can make it mighty unpleasant to be here and we can certainly make it mighty unpleasant for the people who hire them.

If you live in WA State, you ARE going through a big cultural change -- California Immigrants!
From what I've heard, Californians are despised in Washington State. Is that true?

And that's why all of the immigration from 1890-1920 resulted in the United States becoming a Third World nation. Yeah, right. And do you know what happened in 1920?
The 1920 immigration act, which severely limited immigration until it was repealed in 1965, thus giving the country time to recover and assimilate them
We are doing exactly the opposite.
Right?

Good post. History is going to look back on this and wonder how two political parties could be so inept. It's like no one wants the Presidency!

LOL, actually, he did mention that survailance planes were flying the border now. Yeah, I think this will make it a lot easier to round people up who are breaking the law because every American will see that we have given these people a way to do it legally and if they are STILL not obeying the law they are no longer those who are harmlessly trying to cross the border for a better way of life.

Frankly the bigger crime being committed is by companies hiring illegals, not the act of illegal immigration itself. Bush is risking a lot by proposing such a stupid idea, just look at the FR and national polls. Obviousely his approach is completely wrong.
To: HolgerDansk
Thank you for toning it down some..No problem. I get hot-headed sometimes. ;-)

That's a very intelligent reply. But I understand because bush's position is indefensible. He won with 537 votes last time, that won't happen again Yeah like your crusdade against those who willingly and honestly clean toilets and make beds for a days pay is purer than the wind driven snow.(/sarcasm)
Give me a break, DUer.

That the feds will round up millions of illegals who don't have steady jobs? It will NEVER HAPPEN
Yet that's exactly what you want the feds to do to millions of illegals who have steady jobs NOW.

I hope you don't think we are not going to get a new, improved, comprehensive weapons ban.
It's guaranteed.
Probably everything but single or double barreled shotgus.
For now.

Too bad those Mexican police aren't as concerned with keeping Mexicans inside Mexico. Gotta agree with that! They are frightening. They do take a lot of payoffs from those who can pay however, so they most likely do try to keep them there.
To: tubavil
Where are your votes going to come from? From people like me who think Bush has tried to come up with a workable, middle-of-the-road solution to this problem. People who take a far right position are just as culpable as the Liberals who take a far left position.
To: mrs tiggywinkle
Please read Flyer's post showing the main points of Bush's speech.More "read-my-lips" doubletalk. Same as Klinton.

Liberals are the disease And overcrowding creates liberal thinking.
And that's the danger of stuffing more and more people, illegal and otherwise, into this county.
But no matter--like Ancient Rome, out of control population growth beyond our borders will seep into and undermine our country too.
It already is.
To: BushisTheMan
You forgot to mention how you would enforce it. The same way EVERY OTHER LAW OF THIS NATION IS ENFORCED.
