This is it for me.
If George Bush had enforced the immigration laws there would never have been a 9/11. He didn't, there was, now there is a bloody, protracted war that has to be fought to the end.
I spent the last half of last year training Sunil from Chennai to do my job. It was that or loose my severance and benefits. As of January 1 I'm a middle aged unemployed American tech. worker.
Today I got another fund raising letter from the Republican Party. Guess where that went.
Tonight I heard the president I donated money to, campaigned for and voted for betray our country.
America survived eight years of Bill Clinton, God pray we can survive four years of Howard Dean, or something worse because I think a lot of people will do what I'm going to do - just stay home.

When they become citizens, they will vote 4 to 1 for liberal Democrats. This will be the equivalent of bringing an entire new state of 9 million liberal Democrats into the union.
True, and I don't understand what Bush thinks he's doing. If he thinks he can use the American taxpayer's good will to sit back and accept the flaunting of our laws in exchange for future votes, he's in for a double surprise. Dubya has forgotten who brought him to the dance, and his Hispanic illegals won't be there for him either.
"It's the borders, stupid!". His father forgot the basics. Dubya has made such a noise over protecting America from overseas enemies, when all they'd have to do is fly into Mexico and sneak over the border with everyone else. Homeland Security doesn't work at our southern borders and everyone knows it.

There's something these pols have to think about, and how it effects their jobs. It's not just the 2700 people that lose their jobs that are screwed over since the company decides to be unAmerican.
Those workers have families. They go to restaurants and eat. They go to town bars to watch the game. Not for awhile. If most customers are those workers, they go out of business, and there's more lost jobs. Any other towns nearby that have a lot of commuters to that company? Same thing there. The whole county is effected. Guess that family isn't going up North this summer either. Less tourism for the state. Outside of basic needs, the costs cut. That's less revenue for the state as well through sales taxes. Many people will move. That hurts the county services which means more cuts and more taxes on local levels.
Many of these voters are very conservative, pro-life, and pro-2a, but are they going to vote for the incumbent when this took place? I don't know, but I wouldn't be so sure about another 55% top of the ticket in your county, especially if it's Gephardt.

More than 8 RINO's and many with their own 'disguised' bills and propositions...there is no partyline here, we have no choice but to register as Independents and make our voices heard or shutup.

Well, you fell for the liberal press ploy that President Bush is somehow pandering for votes rather than doing what is best for America and Americans. He who asks that others defend the nation with their lives, blood and treasure has no qualms about doing what is right, no matter the political sacrifice. For devout Christians it's really a no-brainer. Doing what God requires one to do is its own reward.

"This "law " will also include all the illegals form other nations here to..I wonder what it does to regulate the high tech immigration ..sound like the restriction will be off too.."
Good lord something I hadn't considered .. that means that wages for IT jobs will be depressed.. this isn't just about menial labor BUT ALL JOBS! GOOD LORD!

There is no job Americans won't do---see that's the problem-we are too expensive. We can do any job but have the gall to demand a wage worth doing a job for. You see we Americans are spoiled. We like to live like free men rather than wage slaves. How dare us.

We brainless, undevout Christians should be ashamed of ourselves, according to you.
LOL, CJ, do you ever read your own posts?

PS: I would also add we are lazy - we have to be to need all this hard working Mexican labor.

Actually what I keep hearing on the press(ie ABC radio news) is praise for this. Then I figured it out. They are deliberately leading Bush down the path of destruction and leading a Dem into the whitehouse. Those little turds are smarter than we think. But I can't vote for someone who it pushing through the things that Bush is either. So now what do you do ?

What?! All there is is crap jobs? You mean for illegals? I would agree there, but there are plenty of high paying jobs for educated citizens.
What kills the system is having a minimum wage. That needs to be abolished.

Rove has so steered "W" wrong! Rove is Clinton's Carville!I agree; Rove has begun to believe his own press- that he is a political genius- and has become wildly overconfident.
He thinks he can put this over on the conservative base because we're too dumb and distracted to really react to it at the polls
But he's wrong and has badly miscalculated.
Bush is making the same mistake Bush 1 made in slapping his base across the face and expecting them to just sit and take it.
To: Texaggie79
What kills the system is having a minimum wage. That needs to be abolished.Huh?
You think that would stop illegal immigration? One reason we have so many illegals is that employers can pay them Third World wages.
Frankly, I don't think you have thought this through very well.
To: Cultural Jihad
The more the hysteria continues, the less likely it will be that borderline conservatives can smugly claim that liberals are ruled by emotions.True statement.
</absence of emotions>
To: WackyKat
Minimum wage FORCES businesses to hire illegal workers to work the jobs that are not worth minimum wage wages.

It is an outrage.
Most seem to assume that this policy will only apply to unskilled workers from Latin America, but they are wrong
Nothing will stop IT, manufacturing,or any other business that uses skilled workers from offering pitiful wages that they know Americans can't live on, and then bringing in Third Worlders
The effects of this program are going to extend far beyond blue collar workers that neither party seems to care about and into the middle and upper-middle class..
