Press conference starts at 2:45 EST....get the prilosec out...we are going to need it.
Maybe Bush thought Moore was a showboater, like I did.
We're at code "orange+." The muslims are extremely close to a 9/11 + strike and bush refers to islam as "the religion of peace." He just had an iftar dinner with KNOWN TERRORIST SUPPORTERS (again). He was roundly supported & elected by many muslim terrorists including Sami al-Arian.>
Who were the "known terrorist supporters" who attended the latest iftar dinner? By name! And, so what if al-Arian voted for him. That means that al-Arian likes Bush, not that Bush likes al-Arian.
There's lots more, but we now have him stabbing his core in the back on the immigration issue.
I'm a core supporter, and I agree with Bush on this.
You better have more, because these are pretty lame.
Sez you.
Gore lost. Get over it.
And today, all America lost a little bit with this surrender of sovereingty to Mexico...the blatant refusal to deal correctly with this situation by controlling the borders, and instead Hispandering is ignorant and dangerous...but you either now this and don't care, as long as your Iceberg lettuce is still 50 cents a head, or you do not know and are wallowing in your own ignorance on thses issues...
I guess I'm on that purity list of yours now, right? So when does the FReeper Auto-de Fe begin?
Definition of Auto-de-Fe...
Auto-da-fe
(n.) A judgment of the Inquisition in Spain and Portugal condemning or acquitting persons accused of religious offenses.
(n.) An execution of such sentence, by the civil power, esp. the burning of a heretic. It was usually held on Sunday, and was made a great public solemnity by impressive forms and ceremonies.
(n.) A session of the court of Inquisition.
I believe you Bush-Bots are leaning towards the second definition here...and yet you all have the nerve to accuse Conservatives of being "too pure" (Read, those of us who supported Alan Keyes!)?
"Penitenze Agite!" (Any Umberto Eco fans?)
You know what? You are an idiot.
I would debate that you know nothing about Conservatism. It isn't a religion that everyone follows lockstep without differences of opinion. Nor is it a hammer for you to use on anyone with whom you disagree. I defy you are any of the rest of you so-called "true conservatives" to tell show me the exact passage in the Constitution that grants the US to you and you alone as a birthright.
Some of you freaks hide behind the Constitution like a cliche when most of you probably don't know the first damn thing about it. And I welcome any one of you to try to get in my face regarding my own Conservatism. You'd be lucky it's a web site and not a bar somewhere. So take your "slave collars", and your condescending attitude and shut the F up. One of the tenants of Conservatism, is the right to one's opinion. Get used to the idea that Conservatives can disagree on a great number of things, because we are not sheep to be led over a cliff by Bush or you Constitution-wrapped zealots without a clue, either.
Just remember, show me the passage. Don't bitch at me, show me. I'll be waiting.
I don't suppose in your sanity you ever ask yourself why both jobs require no brains yet one pays very good money and benefits including health insurance and a pension, while the other just pays $3 an hour?
I think the medical term is 'Cranial rectumitis', and there is NO cure.
Sorry, but "undocumented border-crossers" are not citizens, and thus the government has no responsiblity towards their well-being. Even moreso when those whom are harmed are harmed by working outside the legal system (ie crossing the border illegally). No other country allows so many to immigrate to it (legally and illegally) than ours, and there is no valid reason to allow massive illegal immigration. It harms both the country's own identity and harms growth by holding back wages (In Kensyan economics, the current economic principle we use today, a little inflation is good, by holding back wages it harms this growth in the economy).
What you're saying here is that if a law harms people when they break it then that law is immoral, and if that is the case then all laws are immoral as they carry some kind of punishment that harms those whom "break" them.
That's EXACTLY what Bush is counting on. BAhhh....bahhhh...

That's the old Republican theme song. Way back in the dark ages when Richard Nixon was president, he used to tell his aides that it didn't matter what the conservatives thought because they had no one else to vote for. "Me or the Democrat". He could act like a Democrat, and conservatives would still vote for him. But that was back in the dark ages...
No one is "allowing illegal immigration" and if anything the Bush proposals will solve the problem. But if you feel the need to have the government establish wage and price controls then feel free to contact your representatives, but conservatives generally do not approve of such things.
As to your last comment about laws hurting people, well, that's an important reason that laws are established, out of kindness and concern for those who would otherwise break them. But we are talking about those who got through the law-breaking phase and are now peaceful, honest, and productive neighbors, working for minimum wages in order to better their lives and the lives of their loved ones.
Now, now...temper temper! I was responding to another FReeper attacking a new FReeper's stand on this (which was reasonable, btw).
I am TIRED of certain Freepers crying and cringing when someone challenges their precious view, or to back up their words with more than bluster...
I would debate that you know nothing about Conservatism. It isn't a religion that everyone follows lockstep without differences of opinion.
Then explain the current crop of FReepers that are BushBots to the extreme, and ANY deviation from the words of GWB are sacriledge, to be denounced and the speaker branded Troll, disrupter, or some other blather (like being called an idiot)?
Nor is it a hammer for you to use on anyone with whom you disagree.
Unless you are a long-time self aggrandized FReeper and someone disagrres with you...Bluster, right?
I defy you are any of the rest of you so-called "true conservatives" ...
I sense the "hammer"being used here...Bluster!
...to tell show me the exact passage in the Constitution that grants the US to you and you alone as a birthright.
By my being a LEGAL CITIZEN, born and raised here in the US, it is mine in the sense of Community under the same Laws; as well as my belief that my $$$ is being spent to Hispander, and will simply bankrupt us rather than address the real issues of Illegal Infiltrators!
Now, GWB is proposing to reward lawbreaking, and to allow those who violate our laws to get a free pass...over those who have been trying to get here legally for years! That is why "some" of us "Conservatives" are pi$$ed tonight!
Some of you freaks hide behind the Constitution like a cliche when most of you probably don't know the first damn thing about it.
Again with that proverbial "Hammer" that you whined about earlier...Bluster!
And I welcome any one of you to try to get in my face regarding my own Conservatism. You'd be lucky it's a web site and not a bar somewhere.
Was that a threat? Does that "violate" rules? What should be done about this?
So take your "slave collars", and your condescending attitude and shut the F up.
I did not address this personally to you, yet you took it personally? What should I infer from your position?
One of the tenants of Conservatism, is the right to one's opinion.
Until some FReeper tells you to "shut the F up", that is...right?
Get used to the idea that Conservatives can disagree on a great number of things, because we are not sheep to be led over a cliff by Bush or you Constitution-wrapped zealots without a clue, either.
Then can you explain the current jumping on some of us "Conservatives" by the Bush-Bots over this? Don't WE get to disagree? I was defending a "newbie" that was being jumped on by a FRegular, incorrectly IM(NS)HO.
So, the resorting to bluster and threat usually means you have nothing left to argue with, and since I did not address you, you have admitted you see yourself in my comment..so sad.
To paraphrase you...tough. Get over yourself and debate. If you can....
I never thought I'd see this with Clinton out. But FA your right! Shaking my head. This President has done 3/4 of everything right for this country. He was so excellent about the war, our troops. But the road he went down today, Man, he kicked our votes to the curb! Him and his butt buddy Ridge kicked us to the curb. I cannot believe it's come down to this!
In the future, please try to at least mask or hide any revulsion you might have against another culture.
Second, I did not make any mention of price controls or anything to that effect (economists are against such things as they prevent the mark from working properly). You seemed to have missed my points (I would speculate you even managed to miss the wall I put them on).
Economic principles are based on Kenysan theories, they state that economic growth comes first from the consumer, then business, and lastly the government (it's becomming more and more so where the government holds a larger pie than business). Infact 7/10th's or this countrys economy is generated on the the consumer level, because of that I will again state that any cost cutting measures that reduce wages are infact bad for this economy as it grows and has grown on real wage increases. That last statement is a bedrock principle of Kensyan economics, consumer spending drives this economy. Any actions that reduce income and will then infact reduce consumer spending.
This country would be a lot better off if everyone had to take an economics course in highschool.
He will lose more of our votes then he gains from his pandering. He sold us out today!
Ah, one of the soft-sciences, akin to sociology, psychology, political science, and basket-weaving. More of an art than a science, actually.
